If you want to discus what is KKK-like in Conservative ideology why don't you start a topic about that. This topic is about religious bigotry.

The congregation that forced out their pastor for speaking out against hatred and racism should study their Bible a little. The pastor's statement followed the teachings of the Bible but apparently his congregation hadn't been listening to Christ's teachings.

Whatever are you talking about?

Could that posted incorrect inference that I alluded that there was a relationship between Conservative ideology and the KKK possibly be a result of the improper influence of Merlot consumption?

Which fairy tale "Conservative ideology"?  Political ideology or religious ideology?

As you well know - constitutionally - church and state are mandated to be separated by a wall...

afisher posted  - "CINO's =  White Nationalists.    Like the KKK, they have hidden for decades...and now they have been outed." - Not I.

Appears to be more of those disingenuous "misattributions" - again...

More "mea culpa, mea maxima culpa" is indicated...

You want me to answer a question that should have been more properly posed to another poster?

No thanks - ask again after hell freezes over...

There is more to their culpability alferd.  Anyone who wants to can access accurate information about this religious organization on the Web.  Something seems to have gone awry in this local congregation.  The values expressed do not reflect the liberal and conscience oriented values of the parent organization.  That could well be....This religious group is less doctrinal than most.

Things like this can serve the very useful purpose of causing people to search their consciences - or not...

That's not only a misstatement of what the topic is all about but it is a diversion from what the topic's original subject matter actually IS.

The issue raised is related to the fact that there is an appearance that the actual biblical mandates were being shunted aside to allow "generations of traditional cultural standards" (racism and bigotry) to continue to be practiced...

It's about the laudable man who realized that losing one's job was unequivocally a worthwhile sacrifice when compared to losing one's soul by allowing dishonest members in the congregation force him to say what they wanted to hear - instead of the truth, challenging though it may be...

It's about hypocrisy within "some Christian religious groups" who find that they are not willing to consider the fact that white supremacy and it's accompanying racism is something real practicing Christians would as a matter of course eschew and condemn - and the fact that one particular church "fired" their minister when he challenged others (and members of his congregation) to be not only real practicing Christians, but real patriotic constitution supporting American Citizens as well...

It exposes the hypocrisy of those controlling members of the congregation of Bethany United Church of Christ in Winston-Salem, North Carolina who forced an honest and honorable man out for speaking truth...

Whole lotta loudmouthed hypocritical CINOs out there...

Their deeds speak far louder than their words.

His former church made a statement that cannot be ignored, reworded, or walked back.

Unequivocally worth it..

His wife won't wake up every morning with a jerk.
