I have paid dearly for that Medicare and am still paying for it in spades so that's how I get to complain about Medicare and liberals who are leaching off the government and come here to complain they they don't have enough handouts.

That's how!

So who here is "leaching of the government" and "comes here to complain they don't have enough handouts"?

Of course we pay for the things we get. Somehow Conservatives forget that when they propose that magical tax cuts can be made without cutting services or benefits or the very operation of our government. Snowflakes that they are, they really believe that unless they can reap huge benefits for little cost, it is a bad deal. The truth is, you get what you pay for. The other side of that is you don't get what you don't pay for. In fact, you usually pay more for the things you do not pay for.

Conservatives think the government running EVERYTHING is not good. Liberals think the government running EVERYTHING is fantastic!

"Leaching OFF government". The answer is LIBERALS. If you are not, then you are in the minuscule minority.

The only reason a member of the Middle Class would pay less in tax during a Republican administration is they will earn less during a Republican administration. The rich pay less because Republicans only reduce the TMR, and then remove deductions that the bottom 90% could use.

No doubt, but you brought up "shifting". What "shifting" are you talking about?

Yellow pages and schooling first.

The big "trickle down" effect is going to be when people begin working on taxes and the IRS is closed for business. Does anyone else think only a moron would close down the government?

Oh come on - the Dems aren't morons. They just got themselves trapped in their "Resistance" game. They created such hatred among many of their followers that they cannot act rational and negotiate for fear that they will be accused of giving in to the President.

I had not thought of the impact of the Trump Shutdown on the IRS being ready to implement the Trump Increase the Deficit Tax Bill.

At least one federal agency, the IRS, is sounding the alarm about the shutdown wreaking havoc on the wider public. The agency's union noted that the Republican tax bill goes into affect this season for the first time, meaning IRS employees need training to familiarize themselves with the changes.

But many IRS employees will be furloughed, and if a shutdown drags into January, the agency may find itself unprepared for tax season.

There is another area being hurt. State Tax collection. Most States tax forms use the Fed. forms as base for information when you file. Their regs., and directions are based on IRS directions. My State Tax forms and instructions this year will not be out before the end of Jan. Usually they are out in Dec.
