Simple - the GOPerLords realized about a year ofter Roe v Wade they had an issue that would steal a big slice of Catholic working class and the Fundamentalist Protestants from the Democrats without having to spend a single tax dollar.

No elected GOPer has the slightest concern for the welfare of the zygote they claim to represent - they have not passed a single bill to advance women's health, provide workplace protections for Pregnant women and their fetus' and they certainly didn't do anything to protect the mother's job or insure she received equal pay for equal work.

They pass anti-abortion laws to suck up votes from the Fundies and ardent Catholics which cost NOTHING but do irreparable harm to thousands of women who can no longer control their bodies or their lives and cannot protect the welfare of their existing children. None of that matters to the supporters of forced pregnancy and mandated birth, only that their Fundies continue to vote to harm those who they disagree with. It's what elected Cadet Bonespurs and put more fascists on SCOTUS.

And interesting package to make your hateful point  Working class Catholics and Fundamental Protestants (later called "Fundies") and then something about equal pay for equal work (when she isn't working). And then we have the women who can't control their bodies - do you mean while getting pregnant or while killing the baby? And then the usual "fascists" - defined as those who are not aligned with your Marxist vision of America.
