The Nixon issue involved a few guys breaking into Dem HQs. The current issue is about using the resources of the DOJ and the intel community to use the FISA system to spy on the opposition using Dem purchased material.

How can anyone try to compare the two?

First, YOU should be more intellectually honest.  Spying on Americans communicating and dealing with Russian who, low and behold, happen to be working for the trump campaign, is the way our process should and does work.  Until you and others can understand and accept that fact, there's not much need to answer your inquiry.

"Intellectual honesty" would start with admitting that the Obama Administration corrupted the DOJ and intel community for partisan purposes.

Without that as a starting point, no "intellectual honesty" is possible.

Carter Page was under FBI surveillance long before the dossier existed, so your track record of being consistently wrong about everything remains intact. Congratulations

How does that relate to, "The current issue is about using the resources of the DOJ and the intel community to use the FISA system to spy on the opposition using Dem purchased material".

Are you saying that didn't happen?

There is no comparison between what Nixon was accused of and what you are accusing the Democrats, the DOJ and the intelligence agencies. Nixon was guilty of involvement in the cover-up of the breakin and your accusations are pure fiction.

I guess you missed the part about the DOJ and intel community being used for political purposes with Administration support. To me that is a bigger deal than a coupla guys going off the edge and breaking into DNC Hq.

The Democrats have facts, the Republicans have conspiracy theories.

I don't believe Carter Page ever made it to the White House. He resigned during the campaign.

rk - How can anyone try to compare the two?

FISA and Watergate?  jim has been doing that here for some time now.  (as in this topic)  Even though that faux theory hit dirt immediately after dt released Nunes's memo.  Let the foxes keep making their comparisons.  They think it's good cover for their denial of reality.  Mueller.

And then lots of other people are comparing the dt administration's crime level, to Watergate and the ultimate end of his presidency also.  Logically in the big picture, it can  be said that as far as FISA Court activity, dt was one stupid man to bring Page into the WH.  Didn't prove to be a useful Foreign Policy Advisor afterall.

The opening paragraph says it all. Poor Nixon would have been fine if that pesky media and the Democrats would have butted out. The rest of it is just a collection of out of control wingnuttery not worth anyone's time unless they live in the conservative bubble.

Right: if you don't already think it, don't listen to it, for those ideas and perspectives that are not already yours are crazy **bleep** horse pucky.

Aye yi yi. No wonder we are where we are, letting the talking heads and string pullers think for us.

Extremly  correct statement,  Some have allowed to have Fox news think for them and are incapable of listening or hearing anyone else.

It reminds me or a soldier in a parade that looked at  the other soldiers, and said. Oh!!!! they are all marching with the wrong step.

You lefties sure do obsess over Fox. I am a Conservative and totally able to think for myself. And as such, I can not see something about crazy **bleep" horse pucky and aye yi yi as an extremely correct statement.
