Reagan, a wonderful speaker and generous in one-on-one situations, thought he'd solved the problem when he gave green cards to millions of immigrants and called for the arrest and prosecution of all who HIRED undocumented workers in the future. But the GOPerLords had their dupes in Congress avoid any penalties for the bosses, so the problem with undocumented workers continued.

The problem grew exponentially when jrbush threatened to "close the border" so 11 million MIGRANT workers who entered and left the country according to the harvest entered and STAYED because they feared not being able to get back for next years harvest.

Now the Orange Toad has his mindless legions thinking the 20,000 REFUGEES who must enter the US to claim asylum are an invading hoard bent on destroying American (read: WHITE) culture by somehow causing more disruption to lifestyles of the poor and ignorant than the 1,000,000+ LEGAL immigrants we accept each year.

You can't fix stupid, BUT YOU CAN OUT VOTE THEM!

END THE INSANITY

VOTE OUT ALL THE REPUBLICANS DESTROYING OUR COUNTRY

On Monday morning, the parking lot at the WIN Job Center in Forest was full.

About 25 to 30 people showed up to apply for jobs at Koch Foods' nearby poultry processing plant. Of those, about an equal number were black, white or Latino.

"This is what you'd normally see here," said Dianne Bell, communications director for the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, in the two hour stretch from when the doors opened at 9 to 11 a.m.

The company, one of four whose plants in small Mississippi towns were targeted by federal immigration officials on Wednesday, contacted the state employment agency the same day to request its help in hiring workers.

Gail,  if everything that you have posted is correct. why there was a need for that company to hire illegals? Have anyone asked that questions from that company?

Because they pay poverty wages, who would want to go to the expense of moving there for employment?

Why weren't the employers prosecuted and fined obscenely high amounts to stop them from hiring illegals?  Simple, it's so they can continue paying poverty wages and hiring more illegals.

Thank you Mr trump and the RepubliCONS

So, if they truly want to crack down on illegal people working in America, why wouldn't they have also sent a different law enforcement team in with ICE to arrest the company people? Close the plant down if needed until it can obide by the American laws?

Trump and his administration are only interested in going after the illegals because it excites the racist and bigots in his core base. Going after the corporations that hire them wouldn't excite them at all, they seem unconcerned with that. trump caters to the 1% and uses the ignorant to try and stay elected.

Nice article but it means nothing to what happened. If there were so many workers there 17 years ago who wanted the jobs why did not the Co. do what it did now. Yes there were some who had been working there 17 years, and a number who had long service with the Co. Are you trying to tell us all these people came rushing from other countries illegally to this small town in MS to join all the Americans from the town who wanted the jobs. Lets say that was the case why did the Co. not hire the locals then? I would say new link and story needed to explain why the Co hired them at that time. They say you can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time. The paper should take that to heart or could it be the paper was only reporting on what happened today after the Co. got caught. Please check all of that out and let us know what changed besides the Co getting caught.

680 arrested and 25 or 30 showed up to replace them?

Were the "criminals" (employers) responsible for those 680 arrested?

Until our feds go after those criminals our illegal immigrant problem will continue.

Who Showed Up for Available Jobs at the Mississippi Chicken Plant

"The Trump Organization has relied on manual labor from a crew of Latin American employees that includes many undocumented immigrants for nearly two decades,  the Washington Post reports.

The workers built fountains, waterfalls, sidewalks, and rock walls across Trump’s various properties and were reportedly nicknamed “Los Picapiedras,” Spanish for “the Flintstones,” due to their handy work with heavy stone. Jorge Castro, a 55-year-old immigrant from Ecuador who was living in the U.S. illegally and worked at seven of Trump’s properties, told the Post Trump “doesn’t want undocumented people in the country,” but still has them at his properties."

Just five of the 565 companies in President Trump's business empire are signed up to use E-Verify, the government's best tool to weed illegal immigrants out of the workforce ( Washinton Times)

How many corporations and businesses have been fined ?    Supposed to be $10,000 a person last I knew.

The reasons that they hire illegals here these companies are very obvious they pay them lower wages that they would have to pay to regular workers and they work with no benefits or very little benefits.
it is unacceptable the fact that it is the employers in this country Americans that hire illegals for their convenience an benefit. and yet no one is willing to accept the fact that they are the ones that are responsible for many illegals crossing the borders and coming here.

Yes, how conveniently they forget...trump participated in the chain migration for family members that he railed against, and participated and employs, knowingly, illegal immigrants that he rails against...he’s not only a extreme liar, but also an extreme hypocrite!
