Here you go easyed.....the original post....

The minimum wage was designed to create a minimum standard of living to protect the health and well-being of employees. In short, it has ALWAYS been intended to provide a standard of living that would protect the health and well-being of workers, in short, it has always been to provide a LIVING WAGE.

Republican resent not being able to drive wages to the level seen in 3d world dictatorships and want to end the whole idea of a minimum wage, let alone allow it return to its ORIGINAL purpose, so once again the only solution is to remove the Republicans who prevent the Minimum Wage to return to at least where it was in real terms in 1964, which would be $15/hour.

So the claims about a minimum wage providing a LIVING WAGE in the 60's and 70's are totally TRUE. As is the fact we can return it to a living wage by removing the Republicans who have prevented it from being anything but a race to the bottom.

And the single mother and the kid living with his parents (both in a minimum wage job) - how does your minimum wage theory deal with that?

I don`t think we have enough rich people to support that many poor people.  Smiley Wink

See, there you go.  Can you imagine trying to raise a family on a minimum wage which has not even kept up with inflation?

Hello....they have been for the beginning.  They have many, many statistics that show that men doing the same job as women get paid higher wages.  Side by side, same work and same results.

Hello......are you approving of that?

Hello......do you want that incorporated into federal law (minimum wage)?

Democrats know the answer can only be in providing and improving the kind of infrastructure our parents and grandparents built and maintained which in turn made America the Greatest Nation on Earth.

We need to restore the tax structure that supported the creation of that incredible infrastructure. There is no business that will build it without Government financing. There are no managers who will redistribute their company's revenue from sterile investments in existing financial and real estate assets to operate and maintain the services that will make America Great.

We did this before - from 1936 until 1981 and it WORKED! No rich people had their property seized, nobody was forced to give up their executive positions because of the burden of taxation, and, in point of fact, NO ONE quit their job because they were paying too much income tax. In short NOTHING predicted by Republicans (including Ayn Rand) actually happened.

We call them "Public Works" not only because they are available for everyone, but because the only way they exist is because We the People created them.

Still waiting for some GOPer to describe the world they want when automation finally does eliminate the current jobs that employ the vast majority of workers. It appears their secret desire is for the soon to be displaced workers to enter into "service" to the Uberrich so they can live like Downton Abby and the rest of us live like Oliver Twist.

I started a topic about your 10% projection (The Changing Environment) hoping to explore the possibilities and there was no interest in your theory - only in dumping on other posters and the President. Nothing new in that.
