"Hold themselves out to the public as carrying out a religious purpose"?  That's open for wide interpretation.

Not really - They already do that in their private dealing; being hired as a Federal Contractor where they have expertise and give the government a good price for doing it - doesn't change their mission or their hiring practices already in place with the exception. They cannot discriminate based on other protected bases.  There really should be no difference in what occurs in their private sector employment allowable practices and at the Federal level (Federal contractor) with these types of organizations.  Why should there be?  They perform specific services for the government within their areas of expertise as any other Federal contractor and get this job for providing the service as any other Federal contractor.  This EO is only extending the exemption they already have within the law.

MORE important is the SCOTUS ruling later on this year about Title VII - where the cases involve, simply put, deciding what the definition of "sex" or "gender" means in this equal employment law.   Because here, there would definitely be a definitive change from the current interpretive norm - in the private sector as well as at the Federal contractor level.

   Oh for goodness sake, read the labor report and perhaps you will begin to comprehend that this is not via the EEOC, it is via government contractor's .    If some don't comprehend the difference then shame on them for not comprehending.

Faith based  organizations have been on the Federal contractor list for certain services at least as far back as Bush - maybe longer.

Immigration is one of the big ones  - they help Refugees settle in and get started in their new life.

CIS - Private refugee resettlement agencies mostly funded by the government

They have always had some exceptions to the religious hiring rule in everyday hiring - why would this be any different?

They still can't discriminate against other protected classes.

I would not have thought it possible either, but after watcheing THE FAMILY on Netflix and learning about Doug Coe and what he believed and taught his followers to believe, I'm not surprised at all anymore by what Trump says and does. Not surprised by the Republicans either and certainly not surprised by Pence and/or the evangelicals. Horrified I am, every day and determined that no matter who the Dems choose to run against this guy, I'm for that person.

No, neither one of you are alone. As a group, we are watching trump destroy our Country. His aim to to create chaos, confusion, and illegal overlaps to further his authoritarian agenda. There is a new trump crisis to pursue everyday. We must stay aware and on top of what he is trying to pull over on us. Just like the Border issues, tariffs, and now Planned Parenthood today...all potentially illegal, definitely immoral, and party over Country. 

He’s cruel and evil, let’s make sure that we keep paying close attention and encourage media to report all of the crap that he is up to.
