When people work for minimum wages which has not been indexed for inflation, when people work without health insurance, when people work with no retirement plan.

Someone is getting something for nothing.

However it's not the low wage worker with no benefits.

We all benefit from their labor, at the very least they should have health care, food, shelter, education for the children, a path out of poverty, something for old age, at the very least Social Security and Medicare.

Apparently, according to Republicans, that is to much to ask for.

In your world do people get paid based on the contribution their efforts make to the value of the goods or services - or based on how much they need?

No Roy, YOU really DO ask for "something for nothing" using that logic. The money YOU HAVE PAID INTO SS  pays for SS benefits, not health care.

TOTALLY agree we need Universal Coverage/Single Payer in the USA, but do you have some more information on this bill? Total personal income in 2017 was $16.010Trillion and a 2.2% tax on that would yield $352.2Billion. I'm guessing the 6.7% "business" tax is a VAT on sales, but retail sales and services in 2017 only totaled about $14Trillion, adding another $938Billion for a total of $1.290Trillion and we spent $2.684Trillion on Hospitals ($1.3T), doctors and clinics($665B), Drugs ($329B), Other Med Professionals ($92B), Dentists ($124B) and everythingelse ($174B).

Agreed, we SHOULD be able to cut our cost by HALF since that is the most any other country spends on a per person basis, but I'd love to see some additional data on how "Medicare For All" works.

I wouldn't have a problem supporting "Trumpcare". What's in a name, anyway?

Interestingly, nobody ever calls Medicare - JohnsonCare.

You certainly are if you want taxpayer provided services and are not a taxpayer.

That is not "GOP" - that is "truth".
