I'm down with that.

Won't be voting for anyone who won't openly repudiate trump, offers shallow and meaningless platitudes, makes stupid suggestions or proposes dim-witted and unworkable "solutions"...

I'm really on board with this policy.     Go to events, listen to what GOP wannabee's are saying about guns and shootins.    Bookdmark the Republican wannabees in your area and see if that  is what they are offering up as commentary.

Here in TX, we have really crazy people - the LT. Gov.   says that there are just too many doors and that is the problem - although the shooter was contained in 4 minutes.     Another of the loopy comments was about long-coats - a symbol of the TX Rangers - those too much be eliminated.

I agree, it would absolutely be a start in the right direction Yes, the NRA still has the $$ to control a lot of people, we do know some of the Government definately The Donald,  but we have to start some where some time. I think the time is NOW. This is a way for the people to really let the Government know we are serious about protecting the kids in schools, OUR FUTURE, then maybe it will trickle down to guns in the streets.

Houston police chief: Vote out politicians only 'offering prayers' after shootings

HOUSTON (CBS) -- Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo slammed elected officials for inaction on the state and federal levels in response to repeated shootings at schools across the country.

His comments come in the wake of the latest school shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas that left 10 people dead.

Appearing on CBS News' "Face the Nation" on Sunday, Acevedo said that political leaders are failing to heed the will of the voters when it comes to gun regulations and reforms.

"Let me tell you, people at the state level and the federal level in too many places in our country are not doing anything other than offering prayers," Acevedo said.

"We need to start using the ballot box and ballot initiatives to take the matters out of the hands of people that are doing nothing that are elected into the hands of the people to see that the will of the people in this country is actually carried out."

Acevedo added that "local governments are starting to make a difference" by enacting their own reforms.

The above stated would be a step toward dealing with the problem.

Great idea, but remember the NRA votes as a block, ONE issue - protect the Death Merchants, but they have their members THINKING it's protecting THEIR RIGHTS. Ther should be no wasted time trying to convert the moronic base of the GOP, the win will come from getting the 20% who never votes to go to the poles to save their kids, and the movement begun at Parkland shows how this can be  done.

Unite the victims with their classmates and increase their turnout from 20% to 50% and VOTE OUT THE NRAGOP IN NOVEMBER.
