Our opposing the resolution doesn't exactly set us apart from those nations.

What woman wouldn't want to be "all that she can be". We should all support empowerment over entitlement.

If you don’t think that goes on here, you are incredibly ignorant.  Men kill women here all the time. If a woman is murdered here, it was mostly likely done by her romantic partner.

We also have our own version of honor killings.  A heat of passion defense that mitigates first degree murder to manslaughter, if the defendant caught a romantic partner cheating on him/her.  Catch your wife cheating? It’s not as bad to kill her as it would be to kill some guy on the street.....

Well at least the justice system worked. Lynn Jr was retried, found guilty again, and was once again sentenced to life without parole. But murdering his 3rd wife had raised questions about his pregnant 1st wife committing suicide back in the 90s. Sounds like a real Drew Peterson. Still, getting a conviction tossed on that ground was ridiculous. Having affairs was never a mitigating factor when Jean Harris murdered her Scarsdale diet boyfriend.

More:

“U.S. statements also indicated that there were concerns about the resolution conflating “physical violence against women with sexual harassment.”

So......violence isn’t ok, but sexual harassment is?

So why wouldn't the US agree to this non-binding resolution?  The claim about abortion, a US constitutional right is just bull snot!  Maybe it's because the resolution didn't address "just white girls...."

So the US opposed a non-binding resolution condemning violence against females. Yeah. And that's kind of why no one is buying there's a national emergency on our Southern border, and one of the main reasons is rampant female sex trafficking. Since the US refuses to condemn violence against females anywhere, coupled with Scout's brilliant recollection of republicans' refusal to support women right here at home, it really isn't any surprise that selling the necessity of a border wall is getting harder all the time.

If there was a vote for where women and girls want to live... I'm guessin' Iran, Syria, Pakistan, etc. would be "that place"

And let's not confuse "the tree" (USA) with what Republicans want it to be. Republicans oppose equal pay for women and killed the bill that would've made it possible for them to find out they were being underpaid.

Republicans support employers who refuse to allow their female employees to control their own bodies.

Republicans deny aid to any organization that supports a woman's right to end an unwanted or dangerous pregnancy, be it in the USA or overseas.

Republicans oppose the Equal Rights Amendment

In short, Republicans support their bubba-base that likes their women barefoot and pregnant, so it is no surprise lil donny will support such bubbas in other countries as well.

Thinking that the UN (an assembly of all of our allies) is ridiculous is a common and erroneous idea among trump supporters. I'll not post the judgment of that 'fruit' for fear of violating the TOS.

The quality of the fruit is revealed by who opposed it.
