@jimc91

trump is on a give away program to China, at our Country’s expense.

A majority of Americans do not support, believe, or will vote for trump...

Please, Enjoy It!

Very many of us have no idea as to why we are suppose to enjoy trump’s policies and behavior. Unless of course we support a wanna be dictator!

US-China Trade Talks Are ‘Back On Track’ After G20 Meeting

We should never expect Trump Lovers to think and/or analyze what's happening.

Every week they tell us how great the economy is. We have record low unemployment, along with other positive indicators. At the same time, they are telling us China is hurting us so badly, we need to start a trade war with them. Duhhh.....

If China is hurting us so badly, then please explain how our economy is booming and setting records? Both statements cannot be true simultaneously.

FACTS

Never listen to Trump Lovers who continually upload distorted information.

The U.S. trade deficit in goods with China set a new record during President Donald Trump’s second year in office, despite his efforts to rein in what the administration views as Beijing's trade transgressions. The trade gap rose to $419.2 billion in 2018, from the previous record of $375.5 billion in 2017, a Commerce Department report released Wednesday.

The U.S. and China fulfilled expectations that the countries would agree to resume trade talks after President Donald Trump met with Chinese leader Xi Jinping at the G20 summit in Osaka, Japan, on Saturday.

Trump said the U.S. would not levy an additional $300 billion in tariffs on Chinese products, at least while talks are ongoing. He also said he would let American companies continue to work with Chinese telecom giant Huawei, which BBC characterized as a “move seen as a significant concession.”

“We discussed a lot of things, and we’re right back on track,” Trump told reporters, according to The New York Times. (RELATED: Trump Floating More China Tariffs If Xi Doesn’t Sit Down At G20)

Trump also said China would start buying large amounts of U.S. farm products and other goods, reported The NYT.

The seemingly temporary truce comes after Trump said Monday he was considering slapping China with more tariffs if Xi did not meet with him during the G20 summit.

“China is going to make a deal because they are going to have to make a deal,” Trump said June 10, weeks before the G20 summit.

This isn’t the first time a trade truce has been touted after U.S. and China leaders met at a G20 summit. Trump agreed to delay imposing 25% tariffs on a wide swath of Chinese goods after a dinner meeting with Xi in December 2018, reported The Guardian.

The U.S. and China have been raising tariffs on each others’ goods since summer 2018. Trump argues that U.S.-China trade has lopsidedly benefited Beijing and that the U.S. can bail out American farmers hurting because of the tariffs.

Meanwhile, many American companies are considering moving their manufacturing facilities out of China to locations like southeast Asia or Mexico as China and the U.S. continue their back-and-forth.

Here we go again. Well this time even the far right tells us Trump caved. Not his first or last time. China told us a long time ago everything they agreed to with the US Trump threw out and wanted more just like he does on every thing. Trump is a liar and no one can trust him, and the world does not. There are reports China and other world leaders have come to the point to humor Trump along like the child he is until 2021 in the hopes he is gone. Now could be Putin is now involved in the China end. China and Russia have become close again. There are quite a few countries signed on to China's plan to use rail, and road for trade between China, Europe, Middle East, Africa. All of the damage Trump has done will never be fully undone.

@john258 Like it or not this is good news.

In order for any deal to take place the people involved have to be in the room talking.  They were in the room talking.

I know, you are so eager to hang some sort of failure on the President but this was a good thing.

Enjoy it.

No it is not good news since we should never have had this problem. It was given to us by a very mental impaired President. Dictator Trump. We could have been working on some real problems not ones created by Trump. They have been in the room talking before and even had an agreement which Dictator Trump broke. You really can not deal with a person who lies all the time which Trump does, and all in the world but the far right know it.

You need to bring that up with steel workers, auto workers, and farmers.

No - We All Need To Bring That Up The Next Time We Vote

US Tax Payers Are Bailing Out All These People You Mentioned - They Might Not Be Making The Same Huge Profits from Bailouts & Some Might Even Lose Their Businesses As a Result - But the Folks Who do were Marginal Anyway and not very good Money Managers - Every Good Professional Accountant/CPA tells their Business Clients the same thing they tell their Hourly Worker Clients - Bad Things Happen to Good People - Save Some Money for Floods Droughts Market Fluctuations - Critical Healthcare Issues - Emergencies

US Voters Will Once Again Reward Incumbents in Congress for Appropriating This Money and Not Having The Courage To Shut Everything Down Until the Trump Madness Stops

Again the Congress is refusing to do their Jobs

Once Again Following the Pelosi/Schumer Philosophy - if we can just keep our heads down until the next Presidential Election - hopefully the Voters will do our Jobs for us and get rid of Trump

WE DO NOT HAVE A CONGRESS THAT IS FUNCTIONING THE WAY THE US CONSTITUTION INTENDED

VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS WHO ARE SIMPLY GOING ALONG TO GET ALONG

CriticalThinking:   Thank you PanJ for pointing out the obvious. Oh excuse me, that isn't obvious to Trump supporters. If this should somehow work out, they would give him big time credit for ending the trade war he foolishly started.

Exactly. The right is devoid of the ability to connect the dots. The first obvious question is "why is there a trade war with China?" Answering that correctly highlights how dishonest it is to congratulate Trump for trying to fix his own mess.

The reason we're having a trade war with China is because our National Embarrassment of a President started one. Now he's patting himself on the back for trying to fix what he ignorantly initiated? Good grief.

I am not, hence a difference of opinion.  It happens...

No Of Course You Aren't

You're in Favor of US Consumers paying the 500 Billion instead

Why No Threads About the 22 Trillion in National Debt

Exacerbated by Trumps Give Away to the Already Rich & Politically Powerful

"The main culprit of public debt is budget deficits, which have surged under Trump though the CBO now expects the shortfall to be a cumulative $1.2 trillion less than previous projections. The office estimates that annual deficits will start topping $1 trillion in 2022, from an estimated $900 billion in fiscal 2019."

Spare us the WHATABOUTISM claims

Trump is enjoying the best Economy in Decades

Trump is enjoying the lowest Unemployment in Decades

This Would Have Been a Perfect Time To Start Balancing the Federal Budget with little to No Pain For the Middle Class

BTW - The Only Reason Trump Was In A Room Talking To China Was Because There Were Cameras in That Room

Obviously you like to see Pictures of Trump

The American Middle Class likes to see more money in their Pockets not less because of all these New Federal Sales Taxes Trump Has Imposed On Them

Of course it is good news. Economists, statesmen, our allies, and a host of American businesses have been proclaiming the stupidity of this trade war since Trump started it As negotiations disappeared due to Trump's inability to articulate a set of goals, people began to lose faith in the ability of America to survive Trump.  Now, we have an opportunity to get back to the same position we were in when he started and then try to undo the damage he has caused.
