Re: U.S. trade deficit grew again under Trump in September

We are no longer the biggest, badest trading partner in the woods. The Chinese are. The TPP was designed to contain them and Trump tore it up.  The thing Trump will not mention is that many of the actors involved in multi-lateral agreements, the ones he is tearing up, may not want to bother with negotiating bilateral agreements. Actually, he may not understand the difference but the days are long gone when the U.S. was large enough to have different rules than the rest of the world.

U.S. trade deficit grew again under Trump in September

"Trump leaves Friday on a trip to Asia, where he is expected to make a big push for "free, fair and reciprocal trade."

The above is a reflection of the stupidity of Trump supporters and Trump himself. We already had that fair trade agreement called the TPP. It gave us a link to free trade in an area of the world (Asia) which is 40% of global economic activity.

Trump's withdrawal from the TPP will prove to be one of the biggest economic fiascos of any President.

Another of the Moron's campain promises broken. He just cannot figure out how to run a business he has not inherited.

During the presidential campaign, Trump and his surrogates railed against the size of the deficit, with key campaign aide Peter Navarro, who is now a White House adviser, asserting they could eliminate the trade deficit "within a year or two."

But it also remains on track to exceed the 2016 level. It totaled $273.7 billion during the first nine months of 2017, compared to $257.6 billion in the same period last year.

Trump leaves Friday on a trip to Asia, where he is expected to make a big push for "free, fair and reciprocal trade."
