I like the quote. Which God did you have in mind?  The Christian God, the Jewish God, the Muslim God, or something more traditional like Thor?

This will never be a safe world, it hasn't been for many generations. so don't expect that. now, we have been able to sustain some semblance of peace because we have all been involved in the UN and NATO and in many ways have averted many wars. although we have seen the Viet Nam war, Afghanistan Iraq  and now the danger of Iran.
We certainly don't need that. but let's face it. We have nuclear bombs. Russia has nuclear bombs, India has Nuclear bombs, Pakistan has nuclear bombs, North Korea has nuclear bombs, Israel has nuclear bombs and Iran is on the verge of having nuclear bombs.
So, the real issue is who will be the first that will bomb another one with atomic power.

Of course we all know the consequences of that action. so provoking nations and putting them against a wall is not precisely what we need to do.
Safer? that is a word that  has become passe  in this world.

No, @rker321 I will disagree with your statement of  "so provoking nations and putting them against a wall is (it) not precisely what we need to do."  NO, I believe in diplomacy and working by any and all means to make this a better world....a world where we can and will use diplomacy over bombs. Just because we have them does not mean WE ALL can not commit to dismantling them. I have two young adult children who have not yet got to experience marriage....bringing life into the world or the many other events in life that show the true meaning to life. Is it so wrong to ask people to show humanity that we are actually a caring and just society (in essence, grow up and stop thinking about your ownself which is such a narcissist attitude) ????

No matter what trump supporters try to claim, trump caused this ....... he pulled us out of the Nuclear Arms Agreement ............ just like he did with anything he perceived to be Obama's. He has jeopardized our standing in the world, our safety and well being, just to politically appease his small base.

The International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog, confirmed that Iran’s stockpile of low-enriched uranium exceeded the 300-kilogram (660-pound) limit allowed under the deal, spokesman Fredrik Dahl said

What deal, Trump tore the deal we had up.

What options does Trump have now?

Go shake hands with Kim on the DMZ?

What did the US get out of that exchange?

What did Trump get from the Chinese for suspending his trade war with China?

North Korea and China didn't give Trump anything, Trump surrendered and knelt before them.

Apparently it's OK with Trump for North Korea to be a nuclear power.

So why should it be a problem if Iran is, the US is selling nuclear arm technology to Saudi Arabia , Iran is making it's own.

Seems to me the ideal of non proliferation is a joke.

So why aren't we laughing?

Look at the bright side, as the effects of man made climate change kick in, the seas rise and advance inland 300 feet for every one foot rise ( on average ), the ice melts, and the weather becomes more violent and unpredictable, little things like Iran and it's weapon program will become the lesser of our worries.

Kind of like making a toothache go away by hitting yourself in the foot with a hammer.

U.N. watchdog confirms Iran has breached nuclear deal stockpile limit

Message 10 of 10

Well, it appears Trump has managed to put Iran back on the path to developing a nuclear weapon without getting anything in exchange.  Typical Trump negotiation.

Iran said Monday that it has exceeded the stockpile limit for low-enriched uranium allowed under the 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers because Europe has failed to mitigate the impact of U.S. sanctions, a move that could add to the friction between Tehran and Washington.

The International Atomic Energy Agency, the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog, confirmed that Iran’s stockpile of low-enriched uranium exceeded the 300-kilogram (660-pound) limit allowed under the deal, spokesman Fredrik Dahl said.
