Barr should lose his license to practice law. He recently appeared on CNN to say he wasn't quite sure about the Voting twice legality. Fortunately, the Great State of California elected a lawyer to be a US Congressional Representative.
He sent a one sentence letter to help Barr:
The Attorney General of the United States is ignorant of basic voting laws. So today I sent Bill Barr an official one-sentence letter to educate him. cc:
Their nonsense is from the age in which there were no computers. That may appeal to some who do not have access to the Internet in their homes to this day - so yea trump for zero infrastructure improvements? - but they seem to not comprehend or are just flat out lying that the information at polling places is updated daily ( here in TX - the vote center voting tabulations are saved via thumb drives and I would dare anyone to attempt to connect to the internet via their own phone / laptop.
So on day one, I mail in my ballot and the Election Department has documented that I was sent a ballot. Then I mail the ballot to Election Center and attempt to vote in Person. They say no. If you cannot provide proof that you have not voted by mail - they call Elections office and you may be permitted to vote in person, but only after it is approved by Bexar Elections and you sign a document that says you have not voted by mail. Then they have written proof that any ballot by mail that they may receive at a later date is a duplicate and you get to go to jail.
Computers via Barr and donnie - I go with computers.
Rick Lowery pushed his opinion yesterday about VBM fraud - because of Ballot Board Fraud. Well, I live in Texas and do know about how Ballot Boards work and OMG - deleted the F, there are actually rules about how the boards are staffed and it is equal. That and all members of the ballot board have to do everything possible to assure the voter's intent and know that they are too "err on the side of the voter - as signatures do change over time".
To quote Roosevelt ( FDR): We have nothing to fear but fear itself - and I am pretty fearless when it comes to Ballots by Mail / Vote by Mail...and I talk to all the people in my precinct and surrounding area to apply to vote by mail in the upcoming election.
Hey, we even have a challenge in the courts - that the age limitation in 65 (automatic) is actually age discrimination to all those younger than 65.
Trump advocates for breaking the law via his vote twice to "test the system". Well it would certainly decrease the GOP turnout in the future as those people could be in jail or be denied right to vote for a while. Headshake.

The only "truth" the tRumpToad has spoken in the last 4 years is that he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and his bots would STILL vote for him. There is no fixing stupid or bigoted, so the only solution is to massively OUTVOTE them and remove their control of our destiny. The Toad and all his elected enablers MUST GO!
Good Lord Bill Barr was a train-wreck in his interview wilt Wolf Blitzer this evening. Maybe even worse than trump and Laura Ingraham....what pitiful representatives of our Executive branch. Some could say legitimately that they both "choked", though no one got shot....🤣🤣🤣

Amid the pandemic, however, at least 35 states have changed their mail-in absentee voting policies, allowing all voters to apply for an absentee ballot to cut down on the risk of spreading the virus. Some states are calling the expanded criteria for absentee voting "no-excuse absentee voting," a term that indicates you don't need to explain why you want an absentee ballot as you have in the past -- but you'll still need to fill out an application and request one, either online or through mail.
However, other states have decided to automatically send every citizen an absentee ballot or a form to fill out to request one. That's when we start to see the term mail-in voting -- as opposed to absentee voting -- used to refer to a wider policy of absentee voting for all.
If you're in the US, you must be registered to vote before you're eligible to get an absentee ballot. (You can register to vote online in 40 states and the District of Columbia.) But if you're currently overseas or a military member, you have some other options.
Here's the Carter Commission report on 2020 mail-in voting opening two paragraphs:
ATLANTA (May 6, 2020) — The United States faces a series of critical challenges because of the COVID-19 pandemic, including serious impediments to holding safe, secure, and inclusive elections in November. Many voters across the U.S. are likely to find themselves in areas where the pandemic has not abated and where the health risks involved in going to polling locations will be unacceptably high.
To address this threat, The Carter Center urges federal and state governments to expand access to vote-by-mail options and to provide adequate funding as quickly as possible to allow for the additional planning, preparation, equipment, and public messaging that will be required.
Near as I can tell, there is no difference between "mail in voting" and "absentee ballots". But is seems GOPerBots were tole to distinguish the two to confuse voters into thinking there is a difference. What seems to be the imaginary difference is the conditions for using one form or the other - primarily the existence of RESTRICTIONS on who can vote absentee but are not defined for who can use mail-in voting.
This is just another Republican lie designed to rig the election. the restrictions on absentee voting were written BEFORE tRumpvid20, nee Covid19, made it unsafe to attend large gatherings. The GOPerLords noticed States had not written instructions for something that had not happened in over 100 years, so they want mail in voting RESTRICTED to the conditions that existed before their ToadLord killed 190,000 innocent Americans with his incompetence, stupidity and basic evil nature.
