This is like the "attacks immigrants" thing where the word "illegal" is left out. In this case the word "biased" is left out.

No defending of the President in that. Just defending complete use of the English language.

Totally sideways, I apologize, but there is related Trump action as he has decided to make his attack on Bezo personal.    That is his attack on Amazon, which is cover for him attacking WAPO / free press.

Imagine my surprise when I read an article by RW Rick Lowry this AM.

It’s hard to think of a more pointlessly destructive act of presidential jawboning in our history. The online retailer is a jewel of our market economy that has delivered more choice and convenience at a lower cost.

The backdrop for Trump’s animosity is that Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos owns The Washington Post, which, like much of the major media, is unrelentingly hostile to the president. WaPo’s bias is nothing new, nor should it be taken out on the underlying business of its owner.

The entire article may be worth a read and for the donald crowd, it is in the NYPost: https://nypost.com/2018/04/02/trump-is-wrong-about-amazon-on-all-counts/

This is nothing new. The issue of taxing Amazon has been around for awhile. I, as a user of Amazon, have paid taxes.

The first thing budding dictators do is go after the free press., They do that because they know a free and independent press is what preserves liberty and freedom. Donald Trump is scum of the earth.

I fully agree as to the need of a free (an honest) press. Sadly, the MSM has been co-opted by the Progressive Movement. Fortunately we have others to provide balance.

How America's Largest Local TV Owner Turned Its News Anchors Into Soldiers In Trump's War On The Med...

Earlier this month, CNN’s Brian Stelter broke the news that Sinclair Broadcast Group, owner or operator of nearly 200 television stations in the U.S., would be forcing its news anchors to record a promo about “the troubling trend of irresponsible, one sided news stories plaguing our country.” The script, which parrots Donald Trump’s oft-declarations of developments negative to his presidency as “fake news,” brought upheaval to newsrooms already dismayed with Sinclair’s consistent interference to bring right-wing propaganda to local television broadcasts.

You might remember Sinclair from its having been featured on John Oliver’s Last Week Tonight last year, or from its requiring in 2004 of affiliates to air anti-John Kerry propaganda, or perhaps because it’s your own local affiliate running inflammatory “Terrorism Alerts” or required editorials from former Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn, he of the famed Holocaust Remembrance Day statement that failed to mention Jewish people. (Sinclair also owns Ring of Honor wrestling, Tennis magazine, and the Tennis Channel.)

This is extremely dangerous to our democracy!

This is why Reagan killed the "Fairness Doctrine" for the FCC and why it must be re-enstated - to prevent rich turds from spreading lies that slander their opponents be they business or political. Sinclair was the platform for the totally bogus Swift-boaters who never even met John Kerry spread their lies about his heroic service in Vietnam while remaining silent on jrbush's gutless desertion from his Stateside Reserve Unit.

He's a disciple of Joseph Goebbels who knows that if you tell lies big enough and often enough, people will come to believe they're not lies at all, but pristine truth.

The "bias" in the media is a result of the NRAGOP lying so often about so many things and the media reporting the actual facts instead of the "alternative facts" that support Republican lies or conceal Republican misdeeds.

Being "biased" in favor of TRUTH is a very good thing.

Demanding equal time for lies and slander is a very Republican thing.

Be patient. Come your "workers' revolution" Sinclair will be gone as will Fox and Limbaugh. The rest of the "other than neoMarxist" media will be with them in reeducation camps. You will hear nothing except the pronouncements  of the Tom Perez, Keith Ellison and his BFF Loius Farrakhan. Maybe a bit from Farrakhan's other bud - Maxine Waters. Possibly the former black panther on the DNC Vergie Rollins will be given air time. But don't worry, there will be no alternate views to worry about - the Central Committee for Communications will see to that.

And you worry about some Goebels you see in the current Administration - amateur compared to what your guys can do.

The last President to wage a "war" with the media was Richard Nixon. Look what happened to him as President. Donald Trump will suffer the same fate - and it couldn't come soon enough!

Come on Phyllis, stop being so hard on Trump. You're going to offend our resident members of the Trump Cult who blindly defend 100% of what their hero does and says. When Trump attacks the free press and threatens democracy, they jump up and down to protect their hero in the White House. They aren't bright enough to understand how dangerous this scenario is.

This is very reminiscent of a police state,  and anyone who can’t see that is a blithering idiot.

Couple this idiocy with trump’s attack on Amazon because he doesn’t like the truths that the Washington Post prints about him,  and all the lies about Amazon costing the Postal Service money (  maybe one of the main things that is keeping the Postal Service a flow) and it’s not charging state taxes – – all lies, along with trump’s ridiculous claims that people are coming to take advantage of DAKA, which is impossible,  (Did the idiot forget that he ended the program? Did he forget that the tenants of the program were that these people had to be registered and already in United States and had to have been brought here as a child? ) abd  one wonders how anyone could not see that this maniac is a mentally ill disassociative whack job.

Gee, I miss having a real president!
