Remember how your plan to block Trump worked in the primaries?   Another fiasco?  You think he could do that, especially when mid-term elections is coming up?

Why do liberals always think that receiving welfare, food stamps, and section 8 housing is preferable to working and paying your own way??????????????????

SNAP already has work requirements for receiving benefits, so why add even more? I see it as an election year ploy. Nothing excites the GOP base like the prospect of more cruelty towards poor people.

I have no problem adding to the requirements of SNAP (food stamps) if it gets lazy people off their butts to receive OUR money.

@gruffstuff, what is wrong with better managing and cutting out waste and fraud from a program that has been plagued with problems for many years?

From your post:

House Republicans on Thursday passed legislation that would require Americans ages 18 through 59 to either work part time or enroll in 20 hours per week of workforce training to receive food stamps.

+++++++++++++++++

We can always do better.

The low income working people would not be effected by this because they are already working but need assistance.

so what say you?

Better rethink that.

Trump’s GOP is looking to deeply cut food stamps — hitting his voters hard

If Republicans succeed in their multi-front campaign to cut back on food stamps, the burden will fall heaviest on the working-class, rural white voters on whom President Trump has staked the future of their party.

The people on Food Stamps are working. already. they receive Food Stamps according to their income  didn't you know that.? Do you know the primary recipients of Food Stamps.?  the low military with families.

Better rethink that.

Tens of millions of children should go get jobs?

45 percent of food stamp benefits went to children under 18, totaling about 20 million youngsters. Nine percent of recipients were age 60 or older, and nearly 10 percent were disabled adults who were under 60

64 % to children, the elderly, and the disabled.

Is it YOUR position that ALL people under the age of 18 and ALL people over 60 are disabled? I started working at age 13 a paper route, caddy, help at a store, etc and definitely worked past 60.

I repeat, those that are disabled should be exempt. Not wanting to work should make you ineligible for food stamps!

Teach a person to fish and they won't NEED food stamps.
