Could missing a step be as a result of political blinders?  It's more than the responsibility of one branch of government.

I completely agree that it is the responsibility of more than one branch of government. Since the government shut down under the complete Republican domination of the presidency and both houses of Congress, I would say we can identify the party which is completely incapable of governing, wouldn't you?

Thursday, the Democrats take over. Trump is already asking for them to make a deal with him.  I would say that shows which party can actually open the government again, wouldn't you?

I will have a nice evening. Every day which puts another nail in the GOP is a wonderful day and that has been pretty much every day. Thanks

Trump simply broke another law and his lofo base CHEERS!

Without an appropriation, no disbursal of funds from the Federal Government is LEGAL.

Do you have something against finding a way to pay those in the Coast Guard?  These were funds that were already appropriated.  Of course if there was a Democrat in the White House you and others here would be cheering them on?

What law did Trump break?

The answer to this problem is get rid of Trump. He agreed to a deal and the Senate leader  who then scheduled a vote. Then Trump listened to his far right and broke the deal he made with the Senate Reb. leader who then pulled the bill. If you check you will see all the agencies using up appropriated funds in one way or another to delay some closings so it looks like Trump had little to do with it. If Trump had kept his word with the Senate Reb. leader there would be no shutdown period.

How about some pay for the TSA? Those folks working the X-ray machines make a median income of $38,000. Not rich by any means...

Another attempt to take the topic completely off topic?  Are you saying that Clinton having an affair with an intern was only allegations, when she turned the blue dress with his DNA stain on it?

What are your thoughts about the government finding a way to pay the Coast Guard personnel their December 31st payday?  Or is only that some here are more interested in making political points against the government?

Trumpettes continue to make up stuff about the Clintons that has been investigated for 15 years and found to be total nonsense by the best investigators on the planet - the FBI.

Then they ignore all the ACTUAL felony crimes committed by Trump's most senior advisors and longest associates, crimes they PLEAD GUILTY TO, or were convicted of by a unanimous vote of your fellow citizens, and not one bothered to try and appeal their convictions.

I guess the connecting thread for GOPers is "the FBI has GOT to be corrupt, OTHERWISE they would have locked the Clintons up and all Trumps minions would've gone free." After all those years of hearing FOX tell them that's how it is, and believing it, it's just too hard to accept overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

lil donny will do anything to divert attention from his treason and the orange jumpsuit to match his hide that Justice will soon bestow on him.

Not sure how he thinks this will keep him out of jail, but am sure that's all he thinks about these days.

The porn star reference is about the fact that Trump cheated on his latest wife with a porn star and then tried, unsuccessfully, to buy her silence. You must have read about it. It was in all the papers. It shows his moral code and inability to get anyone to take him seriously as a deal maker.

I object to Trump causing the 800,000 federal employees to either have their paychecks delayed or missed entirely and then try to take credit for finding enough money to keep one branch of the military open for business a few more weeks.   Keeping the government open is his base job and he can't do that.

Again what does a porn star have to do with this topic?  Except of course an attempt to take it off-topic as usual?  If you are going to take it off-topic about a porn star, why not refer back to Clinton having an affair with an intern in the Oval Office then throwing her to the wolves?  What about his moral code in forcing himself on unwilling women?  All that that and porn stars have nothing to do with the topic.  When did anyone's private life become the public's business except as voyeurism?

So by your post are you saying that you resent Coast Guard personnel being paid?  It apparently seems so.  At least a solution has found for that problem.

Of course i am not saying that. Trump might think so but he is a complete moron and only a moron would think that.

I am saying he is so incompetent that he closed the government of the United States, the very foundation of his responsibilities, and the idiots who support him want some kind of recognition for the fact that he delayed completely shutting down the Coast Guard for a few weeks. This is a bit like giving Trump credit for not starting a Zombie apocalypse.
