I have little doubt China is quietly negotiating NEXT YEAR'S grain purchases with Argentina, Brazil and Mexico and expanding their crop as well. They're very pragmatic and have no use for relying on an infantile nincompoop to feed their children, so US farmers, many of whom supported said nincompoop, have lost their biggest market FOREVER.

Farmers are also very pragmatic - let's see how long it takes them to conect their disasterous year with the Republicans who caused it and have made it the new "normal".

2020 is going to be the year of the Democrat. Unfortunately, it will be because Trump will have destroyed the economy, ruined our relationships with our defense allies, and allowed China to become the preeminent power in the world.  Look up Pyrrhic Victory sometime.

Trump has bragged (on Twitter, where else?) that he has reached a fantastic deal with China.  Well, the deal seems to be that both sides will stop escalating tariffs for 90 days.  Based on the results of the trade war so far, this is akin to Trump announcing he will stop hitting himself in the head with a 2X4 and that is a "win".

The Chinese get 90 days of peace and guess what?  Trump loses his Republican majority in the house.  Not to mention that even Republicans (from farm states) are talking about restricting his tariff setting abilities.  "National Security"?  Puuulllleeezzzeee.

Anyway, looks like another big Trump negotiating with just like Trump University, Trump Airlines, and Trump marriages.

So the 90-day “truce” in Trump’s trade dispute with China will push negotiations into a new time window in which Trump will no longer enjoy unified Republican control of Congress, and may suffer political damage as the Mueller investigate culminates. Chinese president Xi Jinping, who doesn’t have to run for reelection ever, faces no such constraints. The truce may also reveal Trump’s reluctance to escalate the dispute because of harm it would cause to the U.S. stock market, which Trump regards as a report card of sorts grading how he’s doing in office.

Seems China has not said anything about the 90 day part of their deal. Is there really a 90 day time in the deal or did Trump make this up so he looks better. Keep in mind he is not allowed to speak at the services for Pres G. Bush this week so in his mind he needs a win to offset that.
