In Trump World he's fulfilling his campaign promises. If that were true, then MEXICO would pay for the wall.

In the real world, Trump is:

  • running a criminal enterprise
  • telling Kim Jong Un that he loves him
  • doing everything Vladimir wants him to do
  • lying non-stop
  • destroying our relationships with our NATO allies
  • running up the national deficit
  • starting insane trade wars which are hurting America
  • etc.

Now CT, we must remember WHO he was making those promises to. THEN it's easy to understand how they can now assert he's keeping the promises.

It is beyond tragic that 26% of American registered voters are so dispondent over the condition the Reagan taxscam and jrbush Great Depression put them in they will reach out to any moron who tells them he will hurt people on their behalf as payback for the pain they suffer, AND IT GETS THEIR VOTE!

But the GOPerLords have spent decades building distrust of TRUTH in order to conceal the reality of their programs and policies, first by removing the Fairness Doctrine that held LYING on the air to a minimum, then by creating FOX and the whole panapy of RW H8RADIO and Internet Blogs.

So now the Trumpettes think somehow it was "Globalization" and not Republican legislation that rewarded shipping our highest paying manufacturing jobs overseas AND "Automation" and not the Reagan taxscam that allowed and encouraged keeping all the profits for Management is the reason they haven't had a real raise since 1985.

Now their ToadPOTUS is constantly attacking the integrety of the FBI and DOJ and calling our entire Intelligence network inferior to the WORD of OUR ENEMIES.

A Free Press is essential to the success of Democracy, BUT that only works if THE GOVERNMENT is not CONSPIRING with elements in "the media" to bring about the doublespeak Orwell warned us about in 1984, turning what SHOULD be a check on the lies and excess of Government into a supporter of whatever the GOPerLords tell it to say is true.

Forget all those folks - just you - if the President changed his request  to funding for a fence, would you approve?

NO.

That's interesting. The Dems were for the fence and you are opposed to it.

What are your ideas for border security if not partially including a physical barrier?

That's correct. I'm opposed to the fence. It's wasted money. They need equipment, modern technology, and more people in the right places, maybe additional checkpoints or expanded checkpoints with more agents. They are also in need of resources to stop the human traffickers.

Also, if we are to continue holding the asylum seekers, as opposed to releasing them with anke bracelets, they will need additional humane detention facilities that can accomodate families, and staffing to see to their care. It all ends up with the need to fix our broken immigration system, but that's another topic (and we've had that conversation in the past).

There is much of value in that. However, I believe it is incomplete. For example additional check points does not provide security, it only adds convenience. Modern equipment and technology is fine but what? Drones are fine - they tell the agents "there are 10 over there" so the agents go over there and pick up the 10 while 20 more are arriving 2 miles away totally unhindered.

As to human detention centers to accommodate families won't work thanks to the 9th Circuit Court.

But I do agree the whole thing starts with a total overhaul of the appropriate laws.

Both issues are important and deserving of more than superficial comments about checkers.

Nothing "superficial" about the checkers comment. trump's dumb rural Kentucky voters could beat him a checkers. And leaving without finishing the job with ISIS is unacceptable to all of trumps' expert advisers and all of our allies, oh ............ but Putin likes it.

As I said, "And in one of them he is also fulfilling the desires of many year standing belonging to the Dems - "bring the troops home"." - do you suppose Putin was advising the Dems then?

Bringing troops home is great, under the right circumstances. This simply isn't one of them. Mattis and other experts strongly agree. Trump supporters naturally don't care, but then they wouldn't care if Putin shared the White House with trump., heck it looks like he practically does now.

Except for under a Dem President, what are those "right circumstances" and how would you see them coming about. Without that, it would be a case of us permanently there.

Or you can just say something about Putin and giggle.

In the REAL WORLD the President of the US has no authority over the government of MEXICO.

So then ............ when trump promised that Mexico would pay for it did he lie or was he in fantasy land?

And yes, he is fulfilling his campaign promises - to the extent he can. Despite the wild claims of the left, he is not a dictator.

Nice non-answer.  Was trump in fantasy land when he said Mexico would pay for the wall or just lying, as usual?

So he promised to have the stock market spiraling downward, leave ISIS with nothing to police them, alienate all of our allies, forget about Mexico paying for the wall and have the taxpayers pay for it, make the middle class and below pay the farmers, make consumers pay more for goods because of the tariffs, and wait for the economy to crash?

So no.

Well,t's a shame he didn't promise all of those things, he would have been keeping his word for a change.

But then, he had to keep his promise!

Promises kept: Trump Shutsdown the Government (what a good boy!)

Shutting down the government was not a promise. So, what is that last bit of snideness about??

Of course he promised - on live tv - even to say he would be PROUD to do it!

That last bit means exactly what you think it means. So what other tricks can Hannity, Limbaugh, Coulter, Ingraham, et al, get him to do? All they have to do is say jump, Trump. Good boy!

You forgot the - if necessary to get the support for our border security.

You seem to forget that no one asked him to shut down the government. However, some did remind him of his responsibilities and promises while suggesting he stand up to the Dems.

No, I didn't forget anything. Trump had an agreement with Mitch McConnell. Coulter, Limbaugh & Company, took to the air, yanked his string, and Trump obeyed. Senate R's were not amused. They know well that this president is a loose cannon, and as his base is shrinking by the day. It's just a matter of time that he completely unravels and they abandon him. There will be no wall. D's have offered funding toward border security, but there will be no wall in the deal. Get used to it.

Yes - you forgot the campaign promise made to the voters - not Limbaugh, Coulter, and the rest.

Still not dealt with is Shumer's (and your) willingness to say "border security" with no details. Also overlooked is the Dems prior approval of a fence but now their obsession over a wall.

Forget all those folks - just you - if the President changed his request  to funding for a fence, would you approve?
