nerdymom-- thank you for your post. I'm sure it makes us all feel a lot better. There are very few Republicans I truly respect, but John McCain is one of them. We all know that trump will appoint some inept idiot to be FBI director, who will probably dismiss the investigation at dictator trump's request.

Remember to call your Senators tomorrow.

Gee, I miss having a real President!!

Comey was biting the (other) hand that fed Trump the presidential election. Trump owes the Russians for that help.

So, to further please the Russians, the next sudden removal by Trump will be the sanctions imposed on Russia.

We'll soon know how much time Putin gave Trump to remove the sanctions.

t147244j-- we all need to call our state senators, regardless of whether they're Republican or Democrat, or idiots like Mitch McConnell. They need to know how we feel about this. Remember the Republican senators are rumbling about trump's bizarre behavior.

Gee, I miss having a real President!!

And after the health care bill they just sent to the senate that is a good thing? Perhaps it should be as the health care bill and have to go to the senate for final approval.

The is good, very very good. John McCain has integrity and there is nothing in this world that will take that away from him!

Yes oh yes oh yes. I just posted I a going to call John McCain because he has integrity and it he is not for sale. Especially to billionaires  born in the bubble of protection from the real world.

He prooves to us every day he needs to get back in his bubble.

Trump had the - _ _ _ _ _ to say McCain was not a war hero. Right!

Woooo Hoooo

Finally a bit of sainty, and ya know what he cannot be fired bought or traded.

I love it

Get ready for the ride boys and girls the next few months should get interesting!

There are several Republicans who are upset. This type of egregious behavior should NOT be a partisan issue. If you allow it now for a president you like, it will happen with a future president you loathe.

Maintain our institutions.

Trump gets to appoint Comey's replacement.

Yes, but remember his replacement has to be with the consent of Congress.

Is this the same Comey, whom Hillary laid a big portion of the blame for her disastrous loss on.

I would think the Democrats would be dancing in the streets!

No, it's not personal about Comey.  This is about a fundamental breakdown in the system of checks and balances within our government.   If Trump had agreed to an independent prosecutor first, to investigate his campaign's ties with Russia, and "then" fired Comey, then fine.   But Trump is getting rid of anyone who can bring him down.
