lj9807492:  What in God's name is this country coming to when people clap and cheer when someone not only condones, but praises the act of  one person commiting violence on another individual? I'm beginning to believe that mental illness is contageous.

It's what conservatism has turned into. The party of grievances and fear and Trump knows exactly how to exploit it.

Check out the comments of hardcore Trumpers as they watched his rally last night. These people are not normal.

The Guardian's U.S. editor, John Mulholland, said "to celebrate an attack on a journalist who was simply doing his job is an attack on the First Amendment by someone who has taken an oath to defend it" in a statement provided to the paper.

"In the aftermath of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi, it runs the risk of inviting other assaults on journalists both here and across the world where they often face far greater threats," he said. "We hope decent people will denounce these comments and that the president will see fit to apologize for them.”

HERE IS THE ULTIMATE HYPOCRISY

HOW CAN REPUBLICANS SUPPORT THIS INSANITY?

Trump said he could take Biden — and in quicker fashion than Gianforte assaulted Jacobs.

"He’d be down faster than Greg would take him down," Trump said of the former vice president.

Trump's comments also came against the backdrop of his argument that the political left is fomenting mobs.

"Democrats produce mobs, Republicans produce jobs," he said at one point.

The Trump rally that night was held in Missoula, a county that voted for Hillary Clinton.

A house in Missoula, MT adorned with "Trump Lies".

Gianforte pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault last year...

sentenced to 40 hours of community service, 20 hours of anger-management counseling and payment of a $385 fine...

he apologized for responding with physical violence to a question...asked about health care policy.

dt - "Any guy that can do a body slam, he's my guy."...he didn't think...the episode would hurt Gianforte...

"I think it might help him,"  "And it did."

Here we see the president telling American, men - women and children alike, just what it takes to be "my guy".

And pretty much guaranteeing help for the classys ways they find to fight back at he truth.  That being, you really can't stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot people without any consequences.

He's just lying again.  Beating people up will not help anyone.

Unless you're a criminal and that's just part of what you do for a living.

It's rather absurd to think he only tells lies to Americans and that he's straight up honest when he converses with other nation's leaders.  He can find a place for you in his circle of friends, his organization and maybe even close to the family.  Most know by now he wants to make deals for his benefit only.  Some play the game, many others refuse.  Serving this country as a good steward of our assets is not on his dance card.  He is too old to wake up to a real world and too mentally deranged to comprehend everything is not always and forever all about him and his stable genious qualities.

He will just keep pretending that isn't so.  He personally has no responsibility to help anyone.  Quite the opposite.  It's his tough guy that says he can hurt, and hurt, and then hurt some more.  He uses "my guys" until they're in ruin and no longer useful to him.  So yea, Mr. Gianforte should probably proceed cautiously when he's finished kissing his benefactor's feet.  I haven't checked but is Rudy still missing?

Trump Praises Beating Up Reporters At Montana Rally

MISSOULA, Mont. — President Donald Trump praised Rep. Greg Gianforte, R-Mont., Thursday for physically assaulting a reporter during a House race last year — remarks that come amid calls for Trump to hold Saudi Arabia responsible for the disappearance and apparent killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

"Never wrestle him," Trump said of Gianforte at a campaign rally here. "Any guy that can do a body slam, he's my guy."

Gianforte pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault last year after Ben Jacobs, a reporter for The Guardian, said that the then-candidate "body-slammed" him after he asked a question about health care. Gianforte was sentenced to 40 hours of community service, 20 hours of anger-management counseling and payment of a $385 fine. As part of a civil settlement, he apologized for responding with physical violence to a question Jacobs asked about health care policy.

Cheered on by the crowd at a rally set against the colorful backdrop of a Big Sky sunset, Trump added that he didn't think at the time that the episode would hurt Gianforte with Montana voters — "I think it might help him," Trump recalled thinking. "And it did."

Trump went back to the theme later in his remarks, as he mused that he could beat up former Vice President Joe Biden — who he referred to as "Sleepy Joe."
