Sorry John... they are not entitled to anything, but an opportunity. What they do with that opportunity is entirely up to them. If they want help towards permanent status or citizenship this country offers many opportunities of help through civic, government, churches etc. We are a nation of laws... and laws matter, but laws can and do change.

On a personal level, I ... like most, want what's best for them. I couldn't give a hoot where they're from, or their circumstance... that's done. The future awaits them and they need to look ahead and plan accordingly.

They are Americans just as everyone born here. We did not ask to be born here, and they did not ask to be brought here. They are entitled to everything  that the people born here are. The only group who  preaches they are not entitled is the far right, and the far right created the problems for them because they wanted to use them in their goal of making and keeping America white. The far right have never done anything but hurt people all over the world for the last 300 years. Name one far right govt. who helped people. Our country was founded by people overthrowing a far right govt. headed by a King. Now we must not allow a far right govt. to return and hurt people again.

Sounds like the left is preparing for the liberal exodus to Europe.

What troubles me is they are more likely to run from oppression and take handouts NOW than protect and fight for their rights. They appear to be willing to protest to keep the easy stuff.
That's what happens when you now live in a free **bleep** society. See Europe for reference.

See Europe in reference to:

Where NOBODY goes bankrupt because their kids get sick v 640,000 in US

Where every year the gap between rich and poor DECREASES

Where every year their infrastructure IMPROVES

Where every kid who can pass the tests can attend college

Where you're more likely to die from an animal attack than from a gun

Where nobody dies from food poisoning v 9,000 in US

Where they solved their trash problem decades ago

Where they can retire comfortably at or before 65

Where new parents get paid maternity and paternity leave

Where ALL workers get paid sick leave

Where everyone has health insurance

Where ALL workers get paid annual leave of two weeks or more

Where ALL workers get at least 9 paid holidays each year

Where the citizens of every country are MORE satisfied than Americans are

Yeah, we SHOULD "reference Europe" and wonder why we put up with Republican nonsense about how we don't deserve any of that because some rich snowflake might have to pay what his daddy and grand-daddy paid in taxes.

It's not even about a wall. We already BUILT a wall - 900 miles long covering all the border that make sense to cover.

It's about lil donny's HUMUNGEOUS EGO, and the fact Rush and Annie said bad things about him and will say more bad things unless he wastes at least $5.7Billion on something needless and useless.

If an unwatched wall is useless, what about unwatched fences previously supported by the Dems?

Where are those unwatched fences? The fences currently on our southern border are patrolled.

Fine - then patrol the additional areas protected by the wall.

That's another $5 Billion or so wasted every year because nobody dangerous was coming across the border BEFORE donny's wall. Which is why the area wasn't included in the 900 miles already built.

Which experts do you suppose told them that fences are good but walls aren't?

Can't be the Republican ones who claim its about words, not reason.

So if the border security were not an issue during repub control of Congress, why, just since Dems have taken control of the House, is this an emergency?

Maybe trump expects Dems to clean up his mess?? Or has Pelousi gotten to him?

Never Forget. Open Government

So it should be an issue during any Administration regardless of Party control.

How is our need for increased border security "his mess"?
