BOSTON (AP) — Attorneys general from more than 40 states are alleging the nation’s largest generic drug manufacturers conspired to artificially inflate and manipulate prices for more than 100 different generic drugs, including treatments for diabetes, cancer, arthritis and other medical conditions.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court in Connecticut on Friday, also names 15 individual senior executives responsible for sales, marketing and pricing.
Connecticut Attorney General William Tong, a Democrat, said investigators obtained evidence implicating 20 firms.
“We have hard evidence that shows the generic drug industry perpetrated a multibillion dollar fraud on the American people,” Tong said. “We have emails, text messages, telephone records and former company insiders that we believe will prove a multi-year conspiracy to fix prices and divide market share for huge numbers of generic drugs.”
Tong said the investigation had uncovered a primary reason why the cost of health care — and specifically generic prescription drugs — has been so high in this country.

The ONLY way to get Big Pharma (or any of our Corporat Oligarchies)to behave like reasonable human beings will be to haul them into court, convict them of felony crimes, fine them out of their trustfunds and send them away to live with a 300lb room mate who thinks their new name will be "Nancy".
To do that, we must first create laws AGAINST the huge frauds they perpitrate
and to do THAT we must get the GOPers out of elected office.
Since the lawsuit has already been filed, it would appear there is no need to get rid of the GOP.
The 300 pounder and Nancy again. Between that and the golden showers, you do have some strange obsessions.
So Don't You Have Some Strange Obsessions - Now You're Referring to People as 300 Pounders - is that supposed to be Nadler or the King of Fries and Fast Food Burgers
Nadlers current BMI is probably 25
Trumps BMI puts him in the Morbidly Obese Category
A prerequisite to an intelligent response is reading the post that was being referred to.

During a 19-month period beginning in July 2013, the suit says Teva significantly raised prices on approximately 112 different generic drugs and on at least 86 of those drugs colluded with a group it referred to as “high quality” competitors.
Guess who was President then and also MUTE?
Obama is not on the Ballot in 2020 - THE TRUMP MUTE IS
The Trump Mute Has No Plan to Lower Drug Costs
Can you provide a link to the Trump Drug Cost Reduction Plan?
However I can provide a Democratic Candidate that has been fighting for Lower Drug Costs in the Senate since the year 2013 - has published a Plan
Washington, DC - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) today introduced the Affordable Drug Manufacturing Act, an ambitious proposal to address the skyrocketing price of prescription drugs. Her bill would lower prices and increase competition in the generic pharmaceutical market by establishing an Office of Drug Manufacturing within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) tasked with manufacturing select generic drugs and offering them to consumers at a fair price that guarantees affordable patient access.
Representative Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) introduced identical companion legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“In market after market, competition is dying as a handful of giant companies spend millions to rig the rules, insulate themselves from accountability, and line their pockets at the expense of American families,” said Senator Warren. “The solution here is not to replace markets, but to fix them.
The Affordable Drug Manufacturing Act will introduce more competition into the prescription drug market, and bring down prices for consumers.”
“Nearly 25% of Americans have skipped a dose of their medication or not filled a prescription due to the prohibitive cost. This includes 50% of medications for chronic disease that are not taken as prescribed. This lack of adherence is estimated to have caused approximately 125,000 deaths, and we know the names of some people who have died. Meanwhile, pharmaceutical corporations have spiked prices, stifled competition, and thickened their own wallets,” said Representative Schakowsky. “That’s why I’m proud to unveil the Affordable Drug Manufacturing Act with my friend Senator Elizabeth Warren today. It’s time for Pharmaceutical companies to face real, honest competition in the marketplace and it’s well past time for prescription drug prices to come down.”
When patents on brand-name drugs expire, market forces are supposed to kick in to lower prices as companies rush to make generic versions. But the generic drug market—which supplies nearly 90 percent of the country’s prescriptions—is broken in fundamental ways. Today, 40 percent of generic drugs are made by a single company and the majority are manufactured by only one or two companies. Many drugs whose patents have expired simply sit on the shelf with no producer at all. And some companies even buy up expired patents to corner the market and jack up prices—all to rake in cash on the backs of patients.

I didn't see the post where you complained about Obama being mute from 2013-2016. He didn't care a whit about the drug costs and it didn't bother the left at all.
it's 2019 - a year B4 we are all Invited to participate in deciding whether Trump deserves a Second Term as US President
The only thing Relevant about Obama in this Discussion is - did US Voters determine he did enough on Drug Prices to deserve to Serve as President the Maximum Number of years allowed by the US Constitution
OBAMA SERVED 8 YEARS AS US PRESIDENT
TRUMP MIGHT SERVE 8 YEARS OR MORE BUT IT WON'T ALL BE IN THE WHITEHOUSE

Did you see 60 Minutes tonight? It predates the "mute" President that upsets you.
No Didn't See It - watching the Bruins Annihilate Carolina - what happened?
They had the AG of Connecticut who explained that, as I said, this is a situation that predates the "mute" President that concerns you and that various States have been working on it and are very close to a lawsuit.
Well Good - it sounds like you're a States Rights kind of guy - I hope you will join the rest of us Patriotic Americans in supporting New York State in their efforts to put Tax Evaders - Money Launderers & Corrupt Real Estate Con Men in Prison
