IMO, this was the main reason that Trump thought that Putin had such a great idea. Trump swallowed it hook, line, and sinker. I mean, is this man a complete idiot? It would certainly seem so.

Today we find out that there has once again been an  "adult intervention" among the WH daycare staff, and Trump has had to reverse his previous statement. Further, Congress just condemned it in a bipartisan resolution.

During the Trump-Putin Summit press conference Putin brought up something about a Mr. Browder funneling money which some of it reached the Hillary Clinton campaign.

I thought Trump's reaction during Putins speech was amusing. It looked obvious on the video that Trump knew what Putin was about to say. I'm guessing Trump learned about Browder during his private conference with Putin, and not from his own intelligence people.

Putin said $400 "million", but it was later clarified as "$400 thousand".
Politifact called it "Pants on Fire" before the clarification.

The Intercept said:
What he had intended to say, according to a Russian government spokesperson, was that business associates of the U.S.-born investor William Browder had donated $400,000 to Clinton’s campaign. (According to public campaign finance records, that figure also appears to be inflated.)

Watch at the very beginning of the video Trump's immediate reaction to Putin's words. It certainly seems Trump knew what was coming.

gruffstuff:  Two weeks before his inauguration, Donald J. Trump was shown highly classified intelligence indicating that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had personally ordered complex cyberattacks to sway the 2016 American election.

If Trump excels at anything it's lying. Everyone but his hardcore supporters knows this, and I almost feel sorry for them knowing what the inevitable end is going to be.

How much more evidence do we need to show how Trump has repeatedly lied about Putin and Russian interference?  Question becomes, was it to cover-up what he already knew? Was he knowingly conspiring with Putin/Russia, or just a convenient dupe, or maybe both?

We will eventually get the answer from the Mueller investigation, the Cohen investigation, or the Batina trial, or possibly all three. They may have hit the motherlode with the arrest of Batina.

Trump Has Muddied a Clear Message

From the Start, Trump Has Muddied a Clear Message: Putin Interfered

WASHINGTON — Two weeks before his inauguration, Donald J. Trump was shown highly classified intelligence indicating that President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia had personally ordered complex cyberattacks to sway the 2016 American election.

The evidence included texts and emails from Russian military officers and information gleaned from a top-secret source close to Mr. Putin, who had described to the C.I.A. how the Kremlin decided to execute its campaign of hacking and disinformation.

Mr. Trump sounded grudgingly convinced, according to several people who attended the intelligence briefing. But ever since, Mr. Trump has tried to cloud the very clear findings that he received on Jan. 6, 2017, which his own intelligence leaders have unanimously endorsed.

The shifting narrative underscores the degree to which Mr. Trump regularly picks and chooses intelligence to suit his political purposes. That has never been more clear than this week.
