Perhaps you might want to actually look at where those Medicare " cuts " are proposed to happen.  There are NO changes in benefits.

People here seem to want our healthcare cost to go down -

Some people here seem to want some sort of a single payer system -

Provider cost, in each of these instances, have to be lowered -

So what better way to do tha than to

  • reduce what Medicare pays to certain providers -
  • tackle more and more of that waste, fraud and abuse

Example:

Medicare pays a lower rate to doctors (oncologist) giving chemo treatment in their office than they pay hospitals ( outpatient) and hospital owned treatment clinics for EXACTLY the same thing.  Reduce the rate paid to hospitals would be one of these so-called "cuts".

MEDPAC has tons of these type things that can lower the cost of Medicare.

In this case, when government, any of them, talk "cuts" - normally that has nothing to do with benefits, only what they are paying for it

Isn''t that exactly what people here want when they talk about Medicare negotiating the price of Rx?

Anything to "Trump" it up - get people all riled up with the words Medicare and "cuts".  That is exactly what happened when Obamacare came into being - they "cut" Medicare - they "cut" the % paid to Medicare Advantage insurers and "cut"

certain reimbursements made to hospitals and providers.

Heh heh...................................

The US Government Has Been Telling Tax Payers it's going to - tackle more and more of that waste, fraud and abuse in Healthcare for as long as it has existed.........................

You can keep us Updated on How That All Works Out

I prefer to concentrate on the Fact that the Money (845 Billion) is Coming out of the Medicare Budget regardless of whether or not Trump and his band of Incompetents saves a Single Penny on Fraud Waste & Abuse

My second concern is some of the other numbers in Trumps Budget

9 Billion More for a Wall........................Surprise Surprise - What the Wall Cost up to now 100 Billion or more?

Last year Trump put 700 Billion in for the Military

This Year he's checking that & raising it another 5% -

Even more interesting he wants Homeland Security to get a 7.5% Hike

2. The Trump administration is proposing a sharp slowdown in Medicaid spending as part of a broad reduction in the government’s investment in health care, calling for the public insurance for the poor to morph from an entitlement program to state block grants even after a Republican Congress rejected the idea.

The far right once again show their true colors. Cut medicare and keep cutting it till it is at zero. That is the far right goal. They have opposed Medicare from day one, and have been trying to kill it since it started. AARP was created to counter what they doing. Trump had promised over and over again he would not cut SS, Medicare, Medicaid. He lied just as he lies on everything. The answer. Do not vote for Trump or anyone with an R behind their name as your survival depends on it. Any Dem. is better than any Reb. right now. Vote as if you well being depends on it as it does. TRUMP OUT.
