The Russians and others have been hacking into American systems for many years, this is just their latest.

Rather than making it just one more partisan club to swing, our pols should be directing the techies to work on a fix non-stop.

But is the President that doesn't want to touch the Russian deal because of fear of what it may disclose.

What "Russian deal" are you talking about? Certainly he must exercise caution due to the Mueller fishing expedition, but other than that, I see no reason why the techies cannot be working hard to deal with cyber security.

The Russia scandal just got bigger. And Republicans are trying to prevent an accounting.

Aside from the president of the United States, almost no one denies that Russia mounted a serious and concerted effort to manipulate the 2016 presidential campaign.

The Russians hacked into Democratic Party emails and gave what they obtained to WikiLeaks so that it could be released publicly to maximize the political damage to Hillary Clinton. They used social media to spread fictional stories meant to do the same. They made repeated attempts to engage the Trump campaign in a cooperative effort to undermine Clinton and help then-candidate Donald Trump. They attempted to hack into state voting systems.

And today we learn, in this report from Peter Stone and Greg Gordon of McClatchy, that they may have funneled money through the NRA to aid the Trump campaign.

Another case of dark money from Russia and Republicans, this time funneled through the NRA.

This is really just the tip of the iceberg,  to be honest we will probably never know how deep this goes in the US government and the Republican Party.

Remember when the NRA used to be about gun safety, hunting, target shooting, and good sportsmanship?

I do.

I read this online yesterday, and no, we dont just  "let it go". This may implicate an international money laundering scheme involving Govt officials around te world. Corrupt govt officials are ok with you? bilking people illegally then conspiring with governments to hide it is ok with you?

McClatchy was spot on with the Iraq war too, but nobody listened. They investigated every US accusation, ON THE GROUND rather than in DC, and debunked every claim well before our troops landed.

So it begins.
