I do believe that a poster has the responsibility to provide an explanation on what they post. It is easy. make two columns and tell us the similarities.

=======================================================
A good many of the posts are opinions....do you have a problem with that?

Then there are subjects that you can prove what you post ... its called a unknown...you can not prove a unknown but you can post your opinion.

Rk-It's advice!

What I would advise is that people who know that Democrats are not Neo Marxists, continue to post the facts so that others who may not be apprised of the truth don't fall into the pitfalls of believing this stuff about the new neo-Marxist eta, which is garbage.

Gee, I miss having a real President!!

True. To some, the idea of these boards is to just attack Trump and throw out insults at other posters and ignore any attempt at an exchange of ideas - except with those on the same side of the issue.

So, decision time - for those interested in discussing the various economic and governmental models out there, here is the place.

For those who just want to troll, play the "question game" or the "don't put words in my mouth" game or the "don't call me a commie" game, pc offers good advise.

T626997p-

Now you see exactly what I was telling you.

First day debate class make sure you can support your argument making your position and supporting facts clear to the opposing team.

Oops'  guess our film guy missed that!

Back to the subject of this thread..

The far left (including recent Dem candidates) were really pushing "wealth redistribution". That comes directly from Marx - "From each....to each....".

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

And..

The Socialist Party was included within the Progressive Movement.

And if you read what many that say they are Progressive they lean toward Socialism today....its easy to understand if one has a open mind.

No one could possibly agree with you who knows the true definition of 'Socialism'.

Possibly you could help with understanding that if you were to point out the differences between Socialism and the writings of Karl Marx.

If you want help with understanding then educate yourself on the true definition of socialism. I said nothing about Karl Marx, is that a dead cat?

I don't think any cat died here but Marxism was in post #1.

Possibly you could point out the specific similarities between progressive and socialism, since the progressive movement is the topic?

Trolling???

I am a new poster in this message board, and have been reading this thread with interest.
In response to your post. Why instead of asking from posters on the similarities of Progressivism and Marxism why don't you provide those similarities, it is your post, you in a way are responsible to prove what you have posted.

That is a good point. Unfortunately the words Marxism, Communism, Socialism, Nazism, Fascism, Progressivism etal all have a variety of meanings to different people. Some use them as insults or something to get defensive about without having any idea as to the actual meaning.

That is why I tried to establish a baseline of understanding as a preliminary to this discussion. I offered a BBC film on the subject of Marx himself, a talk by a learned self-described Marxist and told where to get a free copy of Marx's writings.

My hope was that once people got a solid understanding of what Marxism is all about they could then compare his goals and methodology with that of Progressivism, the relationship while not exactly the same would become obvious.

As to your proposal, "Why don't you...." - as you may have noticed, many posters only look at the originator to determine their agreement or disagreement before even reading. I hoped that the sources I offered would provide a more neutral starting place. Even at the the bias crept in - the BBC was accused of distorting and Wolff was called a RWNJ. That is an example of the depth of thought often brought to these discussions.

If the poster refuses to post the similarities of Progresivism and Marxism my suggestion would be to simply ignore the posts about this subject.

Good idea, but good luck. You will be directed to an hour long film, which many other posters have declared very biased. Those of us who don't have time to watch,  have asked for exactly what you have requested.  No go- you will find that often times, discredited news sources are presented or observations are made with no credible support.

Welcome to the forum.

Buckle up-it's often a very bumpy ride!
