Tex,  I have no idea of what you mean, I am surrounded by retired military, and they all go to the VA for their drugs an Dr's appointments, They do have Tricare but use it only on certain occasions. like specialists or physical rehab centers. I haave not heard any of them complaining about the services.

They might since we are authorized depending upon the category of VA qualification.  But of course if they are on Tricare, we can get our medications by mail free of charge for generics.

Sometimes others think we use the VA.  I've had many people even locally think that I go to the VA instead of regular providers.  You would have to ask those you are referring to and not anyone else.  Suggest you do that if you really want to know.

Of course those retired for medical purposes might come under the VA, I'm not up on that area.

Everyone here is military or retired military. all our friends are retired military and they all use VA hospitals and doctors.
In all the time that we have lived here, we never have heard any of them complain about the care that they have received.

I don't know if it is because of the area or what it is. but here, it seems that there is not problem with the Hospitals, and the medical care.

If they are military I'm sure they are required to use the military hospitals in the area, or if they are retired military they would be able to also use those military hospitals on a space available basis.  But for the retired military, they would use some form of Tricare in civilian health care facilities.  The VA is for use of Veterans, not those of us that are retired.  However we are eligible according to the priorities assigned Vets.  Those of us with non-service connected problems are at the lowest level of the priorities.

So what about your dealings with the VA? So go ahead an laugh out loud, but are you aware personally of how it is to deal with them? Of course when a person can't post about the topic, they resort to going after other posters.

I see that is SOP for some posters....and many of them get Kudo's from "their kind"...I am sure you see that.

There are usually those who has nothing to say, or is not familiar with the topic as we have seen here.

Crit--Let's hope that this line doesn't fall to the ways of the WH phone line, which failed to be answered by concerned callers for months.

Gee, I miss having a real President!!

Thanks, Tex.  A perfect example of how some posts are worthy of laughing out loud.  I appreciate your wicked sense of humor....

Of course when a person can't post about the topic, they resort to going after other posters.  Which is a perfect discription of your first post to this topic.  How VERY typical.....

Careful, Chasky might not like your hijacking the topic for comments about other posters!!!

What about your experiences when using the VA system?  Care to comment?

It truly is amazing, isn't it? Sure sounds like a lack of love in one's life.

Of course the person who wrote that article WAS A VETERAN, but doubtful the one who attempted to change the topic to something else isn't.   And yes, Veterans has been having problems getting direction when contacting the VA, and there hasn't been a hotline like this before.

But of course your story about talking to Vets is anectdotal also.
