While parts of Texas are still submerged from the historic flooding wrought by Hurricane Harvey, four members of Congress who represent the state voted against sending it billions in federal disaster aid.

Making a political statement about money while the victims of Harvey try to pick up the pieces, and the victims of Irma run for their lives.

Being from NJ, to me these 4 at least seem less hypocritical than some of their fellow Texas pols.  Totally heartless and with their values in the wrong place but a little less hypocritical.  Why?  Here we remember back to Sandy's destruction in the Northeast & that all but 1 of the 24 Texas House reps voted against our needed hurricane aid.  So did their TX senators: Cruz & Cornyn.  (A lot of other Republicans too.)  http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2017/08/then_and_now_the_texas_lawmakers_asking_for_aid_af.html

Speaking of hypocrites, Monday's 9/11 anniversary really highlighted Pence's hypocrisy.  Did you catch his speech about how he felt the flight 93, hero passengers might have saved his life?  Well that sure didn't stop his (along with many other GOP) disgusting votes against the Zadroga act.  http://www.nj.com/politics/index.ssf/2016/09/house_gop_leaders_praise_911_first_responders_they.html...

Yes it did because of the Dems., and thinking Reb. That does not change anything I posted. There were 4 far right Reb. from Texas who voted against it , and it shows how bad they are yet the people elected  them. Now lets see if they throw them out of office in the next election. If they do not it means the people in their dist. were against any help for fellow Texans.

What you post is the story they put out but there is a problem with it. Unless the debt ceiling is raised there can be no money for Harvey victims.

===========================================================

FYI...

WASHINGTON — The Republican-led Senate on Thursday approved legislation to raise the debt limit and keep the government funded until December while providing $15 billion in disaster aid, giving a reluctant stamp of approval to the surprising deal that President Trump struck with Democratic congressional leaders.

If you are going to answer a post of mine answer the full post do not take part of it and put it up like it is my full post so you can craft an answer to make you look better. This changing of posts seems to be a reemerging trait with the far right.

Both houses of Congress passed the same bill and it was signed into law by the President. This changes nothing about what I posted in answer to your post. The far right in the house and most in the Senate voted against the bill and that is fact. The Texas far right congressmen voted against the bill so they did not want the people who live in their State to get help period. The far right has done nothing to help the people it governed for the last 300 years or longer, and its followers just repeat the party line word for word, and understand none of what they say.

The four Texas lawmakers who voted no all scrambled to make clear they support the government helping their state recover from rainfall totals so unprecedented that weather forecasters had to invent a new color for their maps. Earlier in the week, the entire Texas delegation voted for an $8 billion package for Harvey victims. After Trump made a deal with Democrats on the debt ceiling and budget, that original package died in the Senate, which instead passed a measure with the additional provisions. The House did the same Friday. Estimates for Harvey cleanup go as high as $150 billion.

What you post is the story they put out but there is a problem with it. Unless the debt ceiling is raised there can be no money for Harvey victims. They could have provided 10 billion and not one cent would be paid until the debt celling was raised. Now the way you avoid that problem is have them both in the same bill which was done, and they will get the help. If the Texas Congressman did not know that they should not have been in Congress. As I have said before our far right in action here. They know very little, and will always follow the talking points put out due to that. That is why the US is in such a mess. The far right who voted for Trump, and still support him are the real problem.

Even Trump has shown more brains that Ted Cruz and his pals in Texas.  LOL
