Baylor has long had a culture of a racist and sexist nature. The reactionary response to something already done doesn't answer what seems to be the crux of the problem.

The crux of the problem is that institutions of "higher" learning in TEXAS are incubators for those that harbor racist and sexist biases.

From the group of students visiting a campus last year that had to endure racial slurs, to the cookie sale where different ethnic groups were charged different prices based on the ethnic group, to the poster direct to the Chinese students, and to the posters directed toward Black students..........TEXAS Universities do little to change the culture. They act only when forced to do so. Even professors participate in racially insensitive activity.

This culture is pervasive in TEXAS.

That is why TEXAS appears in the National News so many times when it comes to reports of sexist or racist activity. No other state is even close.

Baylor is a private Baptist university that apparently doesn't pay as much attention to behaving as properly and lawfully as the image it tries to project suggests.

It has a long term history of ignoring and covering up rapes - especially if committed by football players.

Ken Starr of Lewinsky Blue Dress fame - was forced to step down as president of Baylor due to a failure to act from the top to see to it that rapes were invesitgated and properly followed up on.  The football coach was fired for mopery and dopery involved in protecting players accused of rapes - the big 12 has sanctioned Baylor to the tune of $7.5 million annually.

The title IX coordinator cited over 125 rapes, and resigned, accusing the university of obstructing her attempts to do her job.

It's a Texas Baptist school with mostly "Good 'ol boys" in control of things...

Perhaps it's trying to clean up it's act - but that's a many year long process...

The title wasn't racially insensitive enough though. The students dressed up as maids and construction workers, wearing serapes, sombreros, ponchos, and flower crowns.

You did notice that they were suspended by the University and the national fraternity didn't you.  Oh, perhaps you just forgot to include that appropriate action was taken and there were protests against their conduct by numerous Baylor students.  Yet you insist that it was a Baylor thing.

Another note, you're switching in high gear in posting these muckracking type articles aren't you?   Bet that will look good on your resume with either the National Enquirer or the supermarket tabloids.

THIS IS HIGHER EDUCATION???????

Day after day, the National News wires cover racist incidents throughout the country but an inordinate amount of incidents generate from the state of TEXAS.

Within the past few days, there was a murder by a rogue cop of a 15 year old Black honor student/gifted athlete. Also there were posters affixed throughout the campus of the University of Texas that said "AROUND BLACKS, NEVER RELAX" complete with a racist picture, and a link to a WHITE supremacist web site.

And now Baylor, another TEXAS institution of "higher" learning, generates another racially motivated National News report. Seems that a fraternity held a "CINCO DE DRINKO" party; making fun of the Cinco de Mayo holiday.

The title wasn't racially insensitive enough though. The students dressed up as maids and construction workers, wearing serapes, sombreros, ponchos, and flower crowns.

But even that wasn't racially insensitive enough for these students in TEXAS.

They were all chanting "BUILD THAT WALL", "BUILD THAT WALL".

These incidents are occurring almost on a daily basis; not single, rare, and unusual as some may have you believe. In fact, as a side note, there was a similar party to this one held last year at the University of Texas at Austin... who was just recently in the news for other racist activity as noted above.

That is why TEXAS ranks #1 as the country's most racist state.
