Isn't that stretching it a bit?

Nope

A political forum, but not necessarily a political topic.

Some of the Kudos discussed were politically related Tex. As such, no stretch and on topic Tex!

The topic could be about raising begonias, and invaribly someone would turn that into politics...

Or no doubt .... turns it into Hillary bashing, eh Tex?

Another turning this into being about politcs, eh Myexper?

No Tex .... just addressing a post that attacked another poster for doing the same thing that the accuser does all too often!

I still think in view of the fact that people have become consumed with such a petty thing, kudos should just be done away with. That will give people time to obsess about something else that has no meaning in the real world.

I truly believe that it is petty jealousy and nothing but petty jealousy that is spurring discussion.

But of course if one feels it is petty jealousy about kudos, they could turn them off in "My Settings".

And consider it was one of the liberal group here that started this discussion.

It's entertaining and somewhat informative to see comments on the KUDOS thingy here at AARP.  It's not really anything to get into a hussy about, IMO.

I give KUDOS for many different reasons.  Sometimes it is because I agree with the content of the posting. Sometimes it is because of the humor of the reply, or 'comeback'.  Sometimes it is simply for a 'one-up' from a 'gamemanship' aspect (face it, we have one poster from the Right here who seems to be posting from a 'gamemanship' standpoint on almost every posting). It stands to reason that some replies are simply made to give the other poster a 'dose of their own medicine'.  Too bad this isn't a discussion group where true debate takes place, I wish it was.  I also wish the KUDOS count were a reflection of the quality of the postings they were given for, but reality says differently.

Oh well ...................

Maybe I'll get a hundred or so KUDOS for this ...................... gee, I just can't wait to see !!!!!  (snark)
