AXING granny!

Per national statistics, the Estate Tax impacts only 0.2% of Americans. That means 99.8% of Americans are fine with the $5 million ($10 million for a married couple) exemption. I'm not a farmer, but I would be very surprised if there are family farms which are valued at more than $10 million.

IMHO, its totally predictable that the Wealthy support Lemontops taxscam.

What is "strange" beyond comprehension is how people who will NOT be leaving estates over $5.4Million, canNOT afford to give each minor child and grandchild $11,000 every year and do NOT receive the majority of their income from investments can cast a vote for any Republican in any election.

The gift exemption for each person is $14K per tax year with no tax liability.  This can be given to as many people as you want and not necessarily relatives.

How the middle class is effected by this is foggy but one thing is for certain ........... Trump comes out, along with his family, smelling like a rose, saving millions:

No estate taxes save family farms. Farms feed you. Farmers are good people and work hard. They are small businesses. Family farms are not as prevalent as they once were, eliminating the estate tax will insure the estate doesn't have to sell to corporate farms.... who by the way care little about the land and the families who work the farms.

The poorest areas are rural areas with the fewest services. It's nice to know we'll be able to keep more of what we earn and to provide for our families and ourselves. Just in case Chuck Schumer needs to know.

Chuck cares very little about those folks who didn't vote for his party, in rural areas... I'm sure of that.

The estate tax applies to far more wealthy individuals in this country than "family farms" that belong to 'the little guy'. I noticed you sure  didn't show data backing up what you stated.

Again, good to hear you are happy!

Let's just stick with the facts at hand so that we can inform correctly.

We only know for sure that the standard deduction will double FOR SOME.   They have yet to tell us who gets this benefit.  But, they are making a point of using words like "roughly" and "some".

Then, there's the REAL ISSUE that they are also being stealthy about.  Where are the brackets going to "break".    At what level is some poor guy in Kentucky going to go from a 12% tax rate to a whopping 25% tax rate?  Until we know that, you don't know how it is going to affect you.

So, please don't start counting chickens or buying Corvettes!

Lastly, you sure seem to know alot about this for some guy that lives out in the boonies that doesn't pay any state taxes and has low property taxes.

JUST SAYING.

Here is something for all to think about. We are talking about Tax cuts not tax reform as that died when they could not throw millions off health care. What we are sure of the national debt will increase if this is passed. That is money owed by the US, and we are the US so in the end we will pay for it. If we do not pay it now we will pay it later (children). We will need billions for rebuilding from the storms. Where does that come from? Right now is not the time to cut taxes, and it is stupid thinking like that which keeps us in the mess we are in. We should be after Tax reform not tax cutting. If you think the tax cut will create more jobs to make up the difference dream on. The rebuilding will really do that, and has done it before. Tax cuts have never done it. Ronnie did Tax cuts, Bush one had to raise them a few years later to recover from what Ronnie did. Rather than thinking how much we will each save lets get to the real truth. How much more will we all have to pay for this foolishness.
