Obama’s national security adviser, Susan Rice, reportedly gave a “stand down” order on developing cyber-espionage countermeasures against the Russians because President Obama did not approve them.

Personally, I would be too embarrassed by the sheer stupidity of this to post it, but that's just me. As the saying goes, to each his own.

Jim doesn't get it. But I can't be surprised by someone who gets all their news from radical right wing websites and Fox for failing to understand the significance of that word.

Reportedly is not definitive. It's the legal equivalent of hearsay which means nothing in a court room. It means someone else reported that happened. That's like saying someone else said I assaulted their friend, which means zip.

Equally important is the same language used in the bogus Hillary conspiracy theory where Hillary ordered the military to stand down instead of responding to Bengahzi. I'm guessing he also believes that rlight wing myth also..

Right you are, CeeTee.  So many facts ignored by the topic author and Mark Levin....I'm not surprised...is anyone?  They both ignored the how's and why's at the time and what the Obama Administration was doing and getting push back from Red States as far as safeguarding their state systems.  Jim and Levine probably aren't aware (or willing to admit publicly), that several advisers were concerned with the plans by the NSC that some thought would draw a significant Russian response including shutting down the grid or a possible nuclear strike and recommended moving forward with a diplomatic response, closing Russian properties in the US, expelling "diplomats", etc.

But yes....

"Knowing that Putin was notoriously protective of any information about his family, Wallander suggested targeting Putin himself. She proposed leaking snippets of classified intelligence to reveal the secret bank accounts in Latvia  held for Putin’s daughters — a direct poke at the Russian president that would be sure to infuriate him. Wallander also brainstormed ideas with Victoria Nuland, the assistant secretary of state for European affairs and a fellow hard-liner. They drafted proposals to dump dirt on Russian websites about Putin’s money, about the girlfriends of top Russian officials, about corruption in Putin’s United Russia party — essentially to give Putin a taste of his own medicine. “We wanted to raise the cost in a manner Putin recognized,” Nuland recalled.

One idea Daniel proposed was unusual: The United States and NATO should publicly announce a giant “cyber exercise” against a mythical Eurasian country, demonstrating that Western nations had it within their power to shut down Russia’s entire civil infrastructure and cripple its economy.

But Wallander and Daniel’s bosses at the White House were not on board. One day in late August, national security adviser Susan Rice called Daniel into her office and demanded he cease and desist from working on the cyber options he was developing. “Don’t get ahead of us,” she warned him. The White House was not prepared to endorse any of these ideas. Daniel and his team in the White House cyber response group were given strict order,s: Stand down. She told Daniel to “knock it off,” he recalled.

Daniel walked back to his office. “That was one pissed-off national security adviser,” he told one of his aides."

Stand down how the obama team blew the response to russian meddling

Of course, we all have an idea what the electorate would think if the US came out publicly saying the Russians are helping the trump campaign.  Hindsight is often 20/20.

Reportedly gave a "stand down" order? What does reportedly mean?

Man, this sounds just like that stupid right wing conspiracy theory where Hillary allegedly gave the military a "stand down" order, directing them not to respond to Benghazi.

From the original article:

Why wouldn’t the Obama administration act to stop the Russians? Because, in Levin’s opinion, Obama felt Hillary Clinton would be elected president of the United States and did not want the American people to think her election had been fraudulent.

What’s more, Susan Rice sent an email to herself “providing political cover” for Obama, according to the report, “regarding a meeting on Russian election interference with former FBI Director James Comey, then-Deputy Attorney General Sally Yates and former Vice President Joe Biden.”

“This is obviously an attempt … to create a false record,” Levin said. The email was written after Obama’s meeting with Comey, he pointed out. He called on investigators to “put the screws to Rice.”

“In my humble opinion, she’s obstructing and she’s covering up,” Levin concluded.

Susan Rice let the Russians interfere — and now she’s ‘covering up’

Friday on the radio, LevinTV host Mark Levin took a deeper look into how President Obama’s administration permitted Russian attempts to interfere in the 2016 election to go on unimpeded.

Obama’s national security adviser, Susan Rice, reportedly gave a “stand down” order on developing cyber-espionage countermeasures against the Russians because President Obama did not approve them.

“That is the sickening irony, ladies and gentlemen,” Levin said. “That it was Obama and his people who refused to fight back against the Russians. It’s Obama and his people that turned intelligence agencies and law enforcement against the Republican nominee for president of the United States in order to help the Democrat nominee.”

Here’s the crucial point from the report Levin read:

At one pivotal point during the presidential campaign, Susan Rice directly told the White House director of cybersecurity Michael Daniel to cease and desist from developing further technological options to thwart apparent Russian attempts to create havoc in the digital elections infrastructure.
