Re: Strapped to Chairs with Bags Over Their Heads

By drawing a name out of a hat, Virginia GOPers held their control of the State Senate, and control the House. A DEMOCRAT, Ralph Northam, will be sworn in as Governor in January and the Senators are up for election in 2019.

If this latest outrage approved by the Republicans does not get them voted out in the next election, there's no hope for Virginia in this lifetime, and the Gerrymander will replace the will of the People in our State Houses.

For certain a SCOTUS with Kavanaugh will never rule against political Gerrymanders, and its doubtful they would care if the Congressional districts were drawn on obviously racial lines as well.

It will only take TWO Republicans in the Senate to save the nation. Will they summon the courage or perfer to cling to power, regardless of what harm they will do to the Nation for the next 30 years.

@gruffstuff siad: But the state concluded this harsh treatment did not meet the state’s legal threshold of abuse or neglect.
You have to be kidding. Anyone of us here doing this to our Child or Grand Child would have them taken away from us as abuse. I guess now in Va. the people there can do anything they dam well please, or is this just for immigrants?

Is it to much to ask that they be treated humanely regardless of why they came here?

Sadly so many in this Country do not feel this way, they feel illegal no matter what, why, how or when you Can treat them worse than an animal. Unbelievable so many have such hatred in their hearts for another Human Being, children yet.

Well, let GOD be their Judge, as HE sees all, and hears all.

Can't wait to see the Trumpees here defend this. I know on another forum I visit that they just generally say these kids deserved it because they were "acting out."

As if you wouldn't "act out" if you were ripped away from your family and put in jail in a foreign country.

As if they'd ever do such a thing to their own kids.

A horrific story.  Imagine if that was one's own grandchildren.  Torture such as this obviously is likely to cause mental illness or criminality.

Trump's family separation is another terrible story.  416 children remain separated from the families our government tore them from.  14 of these children are UNDER THE AGE OF 5!  PBS Newshour has a good status update on this at:   https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/more-than-400-migrant-children-remain-separated-from-their-paren...

State of Virginia Confirms Immigrant Teenagers Were Strapped to Chairs with Bags Over Their Heads

In immigration news, a review by the state of Virginia has confirmed immigrant teenagers were strapped to chairs and had mesh bags placed over their heads while being held at the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center. But the state concluded this harsh treatment did not meet the state’s legal threshold of abuse or neglect. The state review came after the Associated Press revealed in June that children as young as 14 said they were beaten while handcuffed and locked up for long periods in solitary confinement, left nude and shivering in concrete cells.

Comments :

These people come here to work, flee oppression, to be with family, to work and send money back home to support their family.

Some to seek asylum, some on visa, some sneak in, some try to game the system, some try to work with the system.

Is it to much to ask that they be treated humanely regardless of why they came here?
