Re: Stock Market Crashes on Trumps Tariff Prevarication
The real issue is that Trump has lied so many time that no one on Wall Street or investors believe anything he says. They will believe it when they see something in writing and Donald is walking back his own statements. His bs. " I am Tarriff Man" did not impress anyone.

Re: Stock Market Crashes on Trumps Tariff Prevarication
Somebody should be looking at stock trades in the portfolios of every member of the Trump family. Musk does something like this and it costs him $20 million and his chairmanship. There was no evidence he profited by his tweets either. So, let's take a closer look at what Trump did after his fake announcement.
Well, next year.

Being a true patriot, you would never post anything that wasn't accurate.
Of course not, but the market crash after a dead-cat bounce when it looked like China had thumped Der Trump and cowed him into rational behavior is not the worst of the news from Wall Street.
Seems longterm interest rates are now lower than short term rates, a phenomina called an "inversion". See, normally, long term bonds get higher interest because of the investers longer exposure to the ravages of inflation, so if you plot the rates against the term, you get a gently upward slope. But two-year rates are rising ABOVE the 10-year rate, which gives a DOWNWARD slope, and has in the past signaled the onset of a RECESSION.
It only took Der Trumper 2 years to kill an 8-year Obama Bull Market, but I'm sure his dupes will cheer this accomplishment(sic) like they cheered his trade war that brought the recession about.

Dow falls 800 points on China trade confusion and mounting fear tariffs are choking global growth
"The market is reassessing if anything tangible happened at the Trump-Xi dinner," said one investment strategist.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell by almost 800 points Tuesday, to close at 25,027, continuing a shaky start to the week prompted by confusion over a thaw in U.S.-China trade relations.
The Dow finished the day down 3.06 percent. The S&P 500 lost 3.2 percent of its value, and the Nasdaq fell by 3.8 percent.
On Tuesday, Trump tweeted, "The negotiations with China have already started. Unless extended, they will end 90 days from the date of our wonderful and very warm dinner with President Xi in Argentina."
However, no joint statement from the U.S. and Chinese trade teams was issued after the leaders of the world's two largest economies met on the sidelines of the G-20. While the Chinese Foreign Ministry acknowledged that further talks on tariffs would proceed, Beijing has yet to corroborate details on any major parts of the trade agreement, with Chinese state media avoiding any reference to a 90-day condition, nor did it mention an agreement to unilaterally reduce car tariffs.
“The market is reassessing if anything tangible happened at the Trump-Xi dinner,” Brent Schutte, chief investment strategist at Northwestern Mutual Wealth Management Company, told MarketWatch.
