I don’t understand why they were with Trump in the first place.  Were they just being selfish and thinking he’d line their wallets? And now that he is likely threatening their wallets, they turn to the left for relief?

It is interesting, as I block walked prior to Primary Voting in TX - I did meet Republicans who expressed huge disappointment with GOP both at the State and National level.    Ignobler's are in denial if they believe that all the GOP are in tune with the current GOP agenda.

As the article pointed out - not all Republicans are running away, but the college educated ones are.

So....they are college educated , white and over 60.  'Spose they are AARP members and read the stuff on this forum?  Bet if they did they didn't have any trouble making up their minds.  I'd like to think a whole bunch used to be Republican.  Could be this really is worthwhile.  You think?

White college graduates over the age of 60 now favor Democrats over Republicans for Congress by a 2-point margin. The same group favored Republicans by 10 percentage points during the same polling period in 2016.

The 12-point swing toward Democrats is one of the largest the Reuters–Ipsos poll has measured over two years.

Older educated white voters make up the majority in tight congressional races in New Jersey, Arizona, California, Illinois, Texas and Virginia, Reuters reported.

So why many Seniors will continue to vote Repub, we know one thing - they are not the brightest bulbs.    (/h/t The Hill).

Now that the republican party has shown itself to be the party of dishonesty - even lifelong republicans are beginning to shift to the left...
