@umbarch64—Yes, I saw the boot licking. As you said, it is very reminiscent of “our dear leader.” It was very scripted, disingenuous, and totally disgusting.

Elections are coming—we must remember these fools. Surprised they didn’t raise their arms and shout “Heil.”  So disgusting.

Gee, I miss having a real president!

@phyllisc6781

Very clear that hatch and trump are of the same genetic experiment that went wrong...so wrong that they became elected leaders. ryan, grassley, and corker are crooks...steal from the poor and give to the rich...disgusting! It’s amazing how much humans will lie in order to get what they want.

We really screwed up when we let trump sneak in the back door like he did...landslide victory? We cannot let that happen again, and need to help usher these people and their comrades out the back door. Comrades?...for no more than trump and the repubs have spoken against russia, maybe all of them would like to go live there! Why not, I’m sure the they can screw up the russian people too...then again there may be a lot of good russian people who are way tired of putin. Maybe we could have a big trade of repubs for good russian citizens? One can hope!

We are better than this

Hatch has clearly shown he is a cold hearted, corrupt, whack job who has no business being in office.

Ryan will rot in Hades for claiming to be a Christian when his words and actions show that he is anything but.

Grassley and Corker have been proven corrupt.

All four need to be removed from office just as surely as trump needs to be removed.

Gee, I miss having a real president!

The entire artcle is here:  http://www.sltrib.com/opinion/editorial/2017/12/25/tribune-editorial-why-orrin-hatch-is-utahn-of-the...

    As the article  points out:

  • Hatch’s part in the dramatic dismantling of the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante national monuments.
  • His role as chairman of the Senate Finance Committee in passing a major overhaul of the nation’s tax code.
  • His utter lack of integrity that rises from his unquenchable thirst for power.

For those who know little to nothing about the national monument issue, it is the taking away of public lands and allowing them to be sold / privatized.       Until recently that area of Utah was a popular tourist arena for hking, dirt bike riding, and of course the beauty of the area.       Perhaps Hatch and Sec. of Interior want to sell it for mineral rights as **bleep** lost it's battle to sell out mining rights of the area close to the Grand Canyon.

umbarch64:  Did anyone else watch the sickening sycophants praising the 'dear leader' for his 'leadership'.  It isn't just Hatch that needs to be retired.

Yes. It was embarrassing to see a display like that in America. How long before one of them gets on his knees and licks his boots?

Did anyone else watch the sickening sycophants praising the 'dear leader' for his 'leadership'.  It isn't just Hatch that needs to be retired.

Somewhere between 30 and 40 percent of those eligeable to vote appear likely to behave similarly in 2018 for reasons of their own...rationality not being one.  That's a problem.   IF the remainder of the voting population does NOT vote rationally or NOT vote out of disgust, we all lose. That means 'the donald' and his sychophants win....just like last time.

I no longer think those who now call themselves Republicans retain enough ethical integrity that reasoning is worth the effort.  All you can expect from any discussion is advocacy without regard for any degree of truth.  They are corrupt.  Absolute power will further corrupt.  It has always been so.

Judging from what is on everyday display, our fellow citizens now view all who do not subscribe to their ideology as the enemy...to be subjugated by any means necessary.  I do think it has come to that. The days when we could and would all unite to face a real, not make-believe, enemy from outside may be gone forever.  The views and self-interest of that enemy are now contained within the ideology embraced by our own fellow citizens.  Sad isn't it?

November is coming...if we can hold out that long.

NOW ATTACKED By Hometown Newspaper

Last sentence

poll from earlier this year found that three-quarters of Utahns want Hatch to retire.

Then the people of Utah should retire him.

Senator Hatch Passage of Trump Tax Cut, NOW ATTACKED By Hometown Newspaper

Message 9 of 9

Utah Mormon Republican Senator Orrin Hatch called Donald Trump the best President in history, even better than Lincoln because of his Vicious Rich Republican Tax Cut and $400 Billion Cut in Medicare, which GOP Speaker Ryan says means Republicans MUST RAISE THE SOCIAL SECURITY/MEDICARE Eligibility Age to 70 to pay the bill. Calling provisions in the bill worth millions, bribes specifically paid to Senator Bob Corker, Chuck Grassley for their votes. Never has a Mormon Newspaper, The Salt Lake City Tribune, so clearly called any powerful Republican Mormon Corrupt and Dishonest.  http://thehill.com/homenews/senate/366449-utah-paper-tells-hatch-to-call-it-a-career-in-blistering-e...
