Re: Senate Passes Resolution Limiting IMPOTUS

The Senate passed a resolution limiting IMPOTUS on future retaliations against Iran without the permission of Congress.

Yeah I saw that and I just laughed.

What if Trump does it anyway, what is Congress going to do?

Is Congress going to Impeach him again?

Will the Trump Party in the Senate vote to remove him for that?

I doubt it, I'd have to see it to believe it.

Sen. James E. Risch (R-Idaho) argued against the resolution, saying that Congress’s time would be better spent passing a resolution cheering Trump, as it did for President Barack Obama for ordering the operation that led to the death of Osama bin Laden — who, Risch argued, posed a much less imminent threat to the country than Soleimani did.

I agree...

Fortunately, (unfortunately for you) the Senate did not agree.

Keep in mind Trump can veto it, and said he would. Could this be some Reb. trying to make up for not removing him from office. To little to late.

Because GOP senators like Lee of UT and Paul of KY didn't like being treated like children in last month's Congressional briefing held by IMPOTUS's security advisors.   Although both were previously on the fence about supporting Sen. Kaine's (D-VA) resolution, both jumped on board after the briefing.

Sen. Lee said, after the meeting, "They were in the process of telling us that we need to be good little boys and girls and not debate this in public. I find that absolutely insane. It’s un-American, it’s unconstitutional and it’s wrong."  In other words, they were told nothing about what exactly precipitated the unexpected attack on Suleimani other than Trumpian Twitter spin.

It's not nice to try and fool Congress.

The Senate passed a resolution limiting IMPOTUS on future retaliations against Iran without the permission of Congress.  The House is expected to also pass it.  IMPOTUS is expected to veto it.

Read about it here or pick the news source of your choice.

Personally, I don't think the IMPOTUS has the stomach for it.  He wants to be seen as the big tough guy and he talks the talk, but actions speak louder than words.  Witness his arbitrary dismissal of Iran's missile attack claiming soldiers just got "a few headaches and stuff" and Iran "appears to be standing down".  Nobody wants a war, but nobody wants a public kowtowing show either.  However, I do find it scary knowing that someone with no experience in foreign affairs might get a wild hair up his ample tushie and go off.
