It's that or "borrow" and spend and only Communists, Facists, Socialist, Theocrats, and Republicans do that.
Note: That tax cut will do to our economy what the Kansas tax cut did to the Kansas economy.

It's that "Seattle liberal philosophy" that's the cause of Seattle's problems and they will persist. I don't think even Bezos (a liberal) will expand any more unless it changes.

Liberal? Liberals use tax cuts to increase the amount of "borrow" and spend that a government does. Did Seattle do that?

Seattle did worse than that. Seattle made home building next to impossible with regulations (thank you liberals) that increase the price of every home tremendously. Add to that, Amazon opened a facility that employs many causing an increase in demand for housing thus the price rises making housing unaffordable (thank you liberals). Take a look at the homeless problem created by liberals making home prices too high. That is what the new tax is for - taking care of the rising homeless population (thank you liberals)!

Seattle needs a free market - not a bunch of regulations and new taxes.

Nope. The tax was pared down, and Bezos is planning to move ahead with a new high rise and more building in Seattle. But since affordable housing is now a crisis in America, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

In their last bastion that hasn’t yet crumbled, Seattle, the progressives are correcting the federal government’s mistake and using local taxes to punish corporations for daring to be, well, companies.

Ironically, it is the home of extremely liberal companies Amazon and Starbucks that is heading the new tax. They couldn’t enjoy the new tax code for half a year before the city that they have been propping up for years attacked them directly. Amazon has already responded by making plans to reduce their future investments in Seattle. In the end, large companies are more interested in their own success than the petty politics of any one city.

How did it come to this? In short, Seattle is scraping every nook and cranny they can find for more money to combat the housing crisis — a crisis that the government created. It’s a giant mess, and bigger government is only going to exacerbate the situation.

This video is short, but it still covers the major details. Watch it, and you’ll see the true nature of the problem in Seattle and what to expect next.

Interesting experiment since Bezos is ultra liberal. My guess is no future Amazon expansion in Seattle and the possibility of leaving along with those jobs. Tax and spend.

it is going to be interesting to see how this plays out over in Seattle. I read a story last week that said Seattle will be the template for the rest of the country with how this goes. The housing situation over there is horiffic. We are getting quite a few Seattle transplants where I live in Eastern Washington, and our home prices are headed up now as well...
