So there are some here not for valid and civil discussion but for messing with others who are interested in such?

The small raise that Walmart gave and the pay scale it will take employees to will not get an employee who is single off of assistance unless that employee has other income. Do the math.

So you think that every business should pay $15 or more as a minimum?  Federal minimum wage is $7.25 and you complain about Walmart paying $11 nationwide as a minimum?  I'm sure many workers in Mom & Pop stores would be happy to make $11 an hour.

If you are so concerned about wages then why don't you get your Senators and Representatives in Congress to working at raising the Federal standard?   I note that Kentucky will now impose conditions for Medicaid.

You mentioned Kmart and others. They didn't brag about raises nor imply that the raises were because of tax cuts while closing stores and saying nothing about it.

You're getting like Jimc or others here who look upon anyone left of the far right as "liberals".

And of course KMart, along with Sears, is closing stores and slowing beginning to fade away.  They're puttting more people out of work than these Sam's Clubs closing.  Other stores are completely shuttering up their locations.

So what are you politically classified as if not liberal where politically correctness reigns?

As I’ve mentioned before, I live in an Appalachian area.

They closed our Sam’s Club yesterday. People here are devastated.

Our Reps. are asking the company to reconsider. This really hits the elderly and the poor,  who often take taxis to the store.

Now the nearest store is 40-45 minutes away.

Store officials say this is their plan to compete with Amazon. Meanwhile,  we now have many out of work and the many poor will be forced to spend more for less.

Gee, I miss having a real president !

No one mentioned anything about personal attack.  As far as throwing around 'liberal', perhaps one shouldn't infer it in their screen name?

Further, perhaps you should read the news since that is where I found my information.  But I note that you have no way of proving what I posted is wrong or is presenting anything to do so.

How can one agree with the liberal point of view when they tend to be so argumentative here?  Or so dogmatic that they feel their opinions is sent down from above and written on stone?

You always claim "it's getting personal" whenever you've painted yourself in a corner with unsupported claims. I didn't claim Walmart offered jobs to all the unemployed Sam's Club workers - YOU DID. I didn't claim a $1 Walmart raise would get their employees off public assistance - YOU DID.

You kept repeating the phrase "liberal socialist philosophy" on this thread before I ever made my first post, so don't give me that tripe that you only brought it up because of my screen name.

And then to tout that the fired employees are getting 60 days pay, as if the Waltons are doing it because they're upstanding people. Uh huh. Ever heard of the WARN Act? HERE'S A LINK!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Worker_Adjustment_and_Retraining_Notification_Act_of_1988

"The Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1988 (the "WARN Act") is a US labor law which protects employees, their families, and communities by requiring most employers with 100 or more employees to provide 60 calendar-day advance notification of plant closings and mass layoffs of employees, as defined in the Act.

An employer who violates the WARN provisions is liable to each employee for an amount equal to back pay and benefits for the period of the violation, up to 60 days."

It's a bit different when the law is involved. But then, I guess that information was in all that "news" you claimed supported your assertions, but refused to provide.

Mlesker's post..

So, in light of their suicide by profit chasing, i tend to avoid most non local retail outfits. ANYTHING that is a slave to the stock market is a place to avoid. they supress wages, benfits, pensions, all good treatmet of the worker because of their already inflated value.

======================

Mlseker did not see them or does not care or does not how spell check works.

"Does not how" ?????  You need a grammar check again !

Additionally, of course you are wanting to come down hard on Walmart without considering that it is not only them that pays around minimum wage..  All that without considering that most retail stores pay their employees the same wages.

"All retail stores?  Really?  Costco pays around $17.50 an hour with benefits. I guess Walmart and others need to 'hit the hip', huh? Not only that but most of their workers are full time, with Walmart it's just the opposite.

1) I didn't make the assertion, you did. Notice there's still no proof offered to support your claim.

2) Once again, I didn't make the assertion, you did. That you can't support it, don't blame me.

3) And now you want to bring up any other employer to take the focus off Walmart. And then you politicize it, which you complained about others doing earlier in this thread. Only in alt-right Trump land.

More of your partianship?  I was posting what was said in the media about employees being offered positions in other stores.  If you want to check what I posted then suggest you do your own research.

Additionally, of course you are wanting to come down hard on Walmart without considering that it is not only them that pays around minimum wage..  All that without considering that most retail stores pay their employees the same wages.

Further, I gather you are attempting to make this into a personal argumentative discussion, much like another poster here.  And even further you are basing this on partisan lines.

By the way, the three spell check errors you claim in Kidboy's post wasn't his, but the person he was quoting verbatim.

Have a good evening now.

I'll get to KidBoy's post in just a sec. Good evening!
