Russia reportedly trying to help Sanders campaign now as well...

Sounds like Russia would prefer Sanders to be the opponent to face Trump this November, as he was briefed about a month ago by intel about this. Unlike Trump though, Sanders has loudly denounced both Putin and Russia to his credit.  He said if he was President there will be no more Russian interference, period.  We do not live in normal times still it appears, sadly.

Putin wants Bernie to go up against Trump.

Sanders comments further:

"I don't care, frankly, who [Russian President Vladimir Putin] wants to be president," Sanders told the Post in a statement. "My message to Putin is clear: stay out of American elections, and as president I will make sure that you do."

Once again Not Happening is wrong. Vladimir is supporting Bernie because he knows that would greatly enhance Comrade Trump's re-election chances.

Sanders seems to be using it to his advantage too because this also gives Bernie a place to assign blame for the bad actions of the Bernie Bros - must be the Russians and not some of my supporters - yea, right !?!?

Some news and online outlets are taking exception to this blame-game.

Yup, that's exactly what it is.  If anyone bothered to read the article to which a link was provided, they would know that Russia is seeking to help Sanders win the Democratic nomination, NOT the election for president.  Russia has reserved that 'honor' for IMPOTUS.

Though intelligence officials told Sanders Russia is working to help him win the Democratic nomination, they found that overall, the Russian government has "developed a preference" for Trump to win the national election in November, a finding that has infuriated the president, who believes that acknowledging Russian election meddling would undermine the strength of his 2016 victory and 2020 campaign.

That said, even though Trump was the Kremlin's preferred candidate in the 2016 race — and, it appears, in the 2020 race — Russia's overarching goal is to sow discord on both sides of the political aisle.

At least Sanders has publicly and vehemently condemned Russia over their interference.

IMPOTUS?  Umm... umm... 🤔  Well, let's see.  He's publicly condemned his acting DNI director by firing him, because why?  He briefed the House intelligence committee on the interference and lordy, Schiff was there and heard!  He has also condemned the Democrats for starting a "disinformation" rumor on Russian meddling.  And he's condemned the media for reporting about Russian interference!

Vlad clapping his hands in glee. "We'll let the stupid American president do the work for us.  He believes whatever I tell him."

Russia wants to help Bernie Sanders and Trump, but only Trump is helping Russia.

This is what Russia is trying to do:

Four years ago, Putin used online support for Sanders to worsen splits within the Democratic Party as he sought to secure Trump’s election. His aim now could be two-fold: exacerbating Democratic divisions again to weaken the anti-Trump coalition while bolstering a Sanders candidacy some political analysts believe Trump would find easy to attack as extreme.

This what Trump and his party are doing:

Once elected, Trump continued to reject the intelligence community’s conclusion that Russia had interfered in the election and did his best to denigrate and thwart special counsel Mueller’s lengthy probe into the matter. Trump continually has framed the concerns and findings about Russian interference as a personal attack on him by political enemies, and used the power of the U.S. government to push a conspiracy theory that exonerated Moscow.

The New York Times reported last week that Trump became angry with Joseph McGuire, the acting director of national intelligence, for telling House lawmakers ― especially Democrats ― about Putin’s 2020 interference efforts. McGuire was replaced as the acting intelligence chief on Friday by Richard Grenell, a staunch Trump loyalist.

And in the Senate, Republicans are blocking legislation that would require campaigns to be more transparent about offers of foreign assistance.

Steve Schmidt ( former Republican) said the other day in an interview the current GOP is as morally corrupt as any party in his life, and I would agree with that!!

Of course they are corrupt, that's why they protect tRump, that's why McConnell is sitting on over 350 House Bills, including the House Anti-Corruption Bill and the House Election Securities Bill. We could have a lottery on who in the tRump administration or the Republican Party will get indicted next.

Bernie Sanders interview:

Reporter: "Senator, when were you briefed on this?"

Sanders: "I guess, about a month ago."

Reporter: "And what are you going to do now that you know this?"

Sanders: "It was not clear what role they're going to play. We were told that Russia, and maybe other countries are going to get involved in this campaign. And look, here is the message to Russia: 'Stay out of America's elections.' And what they are doing, by the way, an ugly thing that they are doing, and I've seen some of their tweets and stuff, is they try to divide us up. That's what they did in 2016."

"And what I'm saying to Mr. Putin: If I'm elected President, trust me, you are not going to be interfering in American elections."

When asked why this news was just coming out after he was briefed a month ago, Sanders said, "I'll let you guess, one day before the Nevada caucus. Why do you think it came out? It was the Washington Post? Good friends," he said with a wink.

I wish that I could present this another way, but!

russia will probably try to throw some support to Bernie. He is the one that they want to run against trump, for trump to get re-elected. Russia wants trump. Why? putin owns trump lock, stock, and barrel...that is why trump does not want his financials released. Why do you think that trump never criticizes putin, instead he supports him. Plus trump fires anyone who report on russian intervention...anybody catching on yet!

It's not like putin likes trump or even respects him...but he owns him and can use him like the useful puppet that trump is.
And I have heard that it might take a popular win of over 5 million votes in the right states to win the electoral college...

can Bernie pull that, or can any Dem get the voters come out in near record numbers?

That's the first post that makes sense (Bernie supported by Russia).  They know the country would go downhill quickly with all the free stuff Bernie wants to hand out.

This is really an amazing conspiracy theory, I has been proven that Russia will help Trump they just fired a lady in charge of security that briefed I guess the Senate and the House that Russia is already tampering with our elections and making sure that Trump gets re elected

I think that Putin would be okay with Trump or Sanders for totally different reasons. I give Sanders credit for speaking out against Russian interference, as well he should. I do not believe for one minute that Bernie is pro-Russia. However, if elected, foreign policy will be Sanders' achilles heel, and Putin will try to exploit that. Trump, on the other hand, is much easier for Putin to manipulate. I still believe Putin has got something on Trump that Trump doesn't want exposed.

Yep. It's why we can't see what's going on at Deutsche Bank. Also, anyone else notice how quietly everything got settled with Maria Butina / NRA / Russian money case? Tip-toed out like a mouse.
