Russia Cuts Military Spending

What choice do they have , recession, wrong way GPD, dropping oil prices, sanctions.

Still didn't stop them from making war on their neighbors, or making threats against other neighbors.

They have been attacking the EU for years.

They attacked the US in the last election, what was that?

A peace offering?

That 10 percent hike in American military spending would amount to 80 percent of Russia’s entire military budget — and that’s before the recent Russian cuts are taken into account.

The U.S. spends around $600 billion yearly on its military. Russia’s spends one-tenth of that amount, roughly $60 billion.

With the new cuts, Russia will go from the fourth-largest military spender in the world to the eighth-largest, falling behind India and France.

Sorry about the gap...it's the way this thing works if you want to separate text.

Anyway.

Consider the net effect of this in dollars overall when sanctions on Russia get lifted AND they no longer have to expend resources to expand their 'sphere of influence' or 'land area' or 'access to shipping lanes' AND those all those other intangibles I can't defintively tally with what I do know right now.

That is a whole bunch of bucks just by its lonesome.  Small wonder Vlad is best buddies with 'the donald'.  Understand why the Russians put considerable effort into this.  Even if 'the donald' blew the wad that they had in there due to his utter incompetence and didn't get elected, the uproar contributed to disfunction in our system that directly caused an enormous expenditure of US funds, time and effort we otherwise wouldn't have spent.  If it's gone it can't be used on them, get it?  Win-Win-Win-Win-Win.....hell, how can they lose? Of course the cartoon is right....but the other is too.

The words Benedict Arnold do come to mind.
