You might be right about that, rker.  Now that the "cat is out of the bag" with Manaforts collusion and treason, not much reason to stick around.....the process will take care of the rest.

Dear Jim, what this whole thing is telling me. is that Mueller may be nearer to complete his investigation and Rosenstein knows how Trump is going to react to the findings. and don't want to take part on what is going to happen.
Trump and his new AG  will start redacting the report to suit their needs and then declare victory and saying that there was nothing in this report.

Then of course. Congress will demand to see the report and and unredact what has been redacted and then present the report in its entirety to the public.

And then, is when all the fireworks will start.

and the good news is the Mueller probe continues, and Trumps time is coming. Yesterday was not a good news day for Trump as collusion was proved by the fact that Manafort lied about giving Russia polling info related to the 2016 Presidential race, never mind Trump said there was no collusion, another lie, as usual. Lock him up!!

Rosenstein expected to leave Justice in weeks

WASHINGTON (AP) — Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is expected to leave his position soon after William Barr is confirmed as attorney general.

That’s according to a person familiar with the plans who wasn’t authorized to discuss them publicly and spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity.

Barr has a confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee next week and could be confirmed within weeks.

Rosenstein had been overseeing the day-to-day operations of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election and contacts with the Trump campaign.

Once confirmed, Barr would assume oversight of the probe.

The person familiar with the plans said there was no specific date for Rosenstein’s departure. It is common for attorneys general and other Cabinet secretaries to have their own deputies.
