Lol, @alferdpacker. Do you want to tackle @aruzinsky’s last common ancestor idea? Or should I?

I didn't say, nor believe that we are.  But according to the poster we practically are since he claims we are effectively a branch off of the same tree.

But my question is why does this topic require four threads?

So - no - humans cannot be considered to have evolved from any of the apes - that didn't happen until about a million years after species differentiation had already occurred...

Did we(humans) evolve from proto-humans - various australopithecines and the like?

Well of course we did...

Were you around to document all of that?  After all these THEORIES keep changing constantly with every new discovery and theory.  Do you have solid proof about your dissertation that would hold up with time?

And no, I don't agree with anyone calling others names, regardless of who they are.

Sorry about that...

I'll make three observations

Observation one...

There are people alive and posting here today who almost certainly would not be alive and posting were it not for the very same kinds of science that it appears that they are deliberately misunderstanding and misquoting for purposes of what appears to be disingenuous demagoguery.

Observation two...

The following graphic has infinitely more truth to it than untruth...

Observation three...

TxGrandpa2 - in addition to the content of your post being dead wrong - you're way off topic.

Since more conservatives than liberals teach creationism, and more liberals than conservatives teach that humans evolved from monkeys,

Everyone at least partially well educated, partially scientifically literate and rational knows that H.Sapiens unquestionably did not evolve from monkeys.

Only profoundly ignorant superstitious dolts, morons and ninnies believe that.

It's long been known and verified by molecular evidence and genetic sequencing that H.Sapiens' evolutionary path diverged from both new and old world monkeys, orangutans, and the great apes somewhere between ten and four million years ago - hence making it quite literally impossible for humans to have evolved from monkeys.

The last evolutionary path divergence somewhere around four million years ago was the divergence between the species Pan (chimpanzees, our closest living cousin) and proto humans such as Austalopithecus(Lucy), Africanus(littlefoot), Robustus and Boisei and other related genus groups that existed between 3.9 and 2.9 million years ago.  It's suggested that some protohumans may have existed as recently as 1.9 million years ago.

The oldest known fossil of Genus Homo is between 2.75 and 2.80 million years old.

Just because Roseanne and a bunch of scientifically ignorant ninnies believe it - doesn't make it true.

Need to remember - here in the United States - one in four people are so stupid that when asked, they will resond that they believe that the sun revolves around the earth.

No - it's nowhere near a coincidence that about the same percentage of Americans voted for trump - and may have been part of the same group that enjoyed Roseanne's shows...

Wrong as usual.  The last common ancestor of humans and chimpanzees was 6 million years ago and the last common ancestor between humans and all modern day apes was an ape that resembled a gibbon, 13 million years ago.

Wrong as usual.  The last common ancestor of humans and modern monkeys was Saadanius hijazensis, around 28 million years ago.

According to

Saadanius hijazensis was a monkey.

So you are saying that Roseanne Barr wasn't wrong in her comments in her comments?  Because according to your theories we all are descended from apes?

No, we are saying she is a racist because of her many tweets comparing black women to apes.

Didn't the poster just basically claim that we are all evolutionary descendants from a lower form of life, ie Apes, then didn't he claim that we all, men and women, are descended from Apes?  So effectively isn't he saying the same?

Or is this just a matter that the politically correct crowd can get their selves in a dander about?

Why does this topic require FOUR threads?

Because conservatives keep pretending the topic is about ANYTHING besides Roseanne's racist tweets.

I think it's fascinating that there are four threads devoted to this topic.  And that a liberal has posted supporting evolution in a topic where so many are upset about a comment this topic.

Who is supporting the comment?  It's just fascinating to see so much hypocrisy among supporters of evolution.  All I know about her is what I hear on the news.
