I think you mean "moot"?????

We know that man has created the climate change problem because of the research done by so many respected scientific agencies.

The impact of the climate change is and has been wildfires, droughts, flooding, tornadoes,  and other local weather problems caused by excess energy in the atmosphere.

So, global climate change is real, it is man made. Next question?

Who said the climate doesn't change? It changes all the time and the left will never halt the change!

Tell me how a new tax will modify the climate? Is this the new way the left has to redistribute money? If it can't be replicated in a laboratory and not proven short of having 97 climate scientists who claim it to be so, how do you convince the 300 million plus people in the U.S. that it is worth worrying about? The "climate scientists" were claiming the world would undergo major cooling a couple of decades ago and that hasn't happened. Why do you think they're correct this time?

the usual process is to negotiate (or make a deal) with the other countries.  We had a deal and Trump tore it up.  Now we learn that Trump is incapable of actually making a deal.  Not with Mexico, Canada, North Korea, Japan, closure of the government, infrastructure spending. So, we should tend to our own knitting to take some of the pollution out of the mix and wait for a Democratic president who can actually negotiate.

Or 12 years will pass and the left will see that the world has not ended.

No one claimed that the world would end in 12 years so your statement is disingenuous.

Hey @Olderscout66 are those 97% also predicting the world will end in 12 years?

The world won't end in 12 years, but if we continue business as usual it won't be the world we know now.

There are going to be consequences and costs for inaction.

One problem is if we do everything right from this point on, the best we will see in lifetimes is nothing happening, it just won't get worse, but it will take hundreds of years to get better.

So in a best case scenario, if the entire world treats this problem as critical, it will take decades to stop using fossil fuels completely, until we get to that point things will continue to get worse year by year, and the costs will be staggering.

Almost all of the major population centers of the world are coastal, the cost from rising sea levels alone will be more then the world's economies can bear.

Sea level rise is just one aspect of the problem. There are many other.

I keep forgetting the one rule when conversing with Conservatives and that is to check everything they say. I finally reached out to see exactly what words AOC actually used. It turns out that she prefaced her comment with "We're LIKE....".  This phrase is used in movies and real life to warn of coming hyperbole. For the Conservatives reading this, hyperbole is exaggeration for emphasis. Once again, we are watching the popular Conservative sport of quoting a person's words out of context. In some circles, this is considered lying but we will give them a break and assume they are getting it from Fox News.

As long as you are quoting AOC, she also said "only a sea sponge" would take her 12 year comment as a prediction.  So.........how about it all you sponges?

"Millennials and Gen Z and all these folks that come after us are looking up, and we're like, 'The world is going to end in 12 years if we don't address climate change, and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?' " she said.

Floating ice, or Sea Ice, alternately called Pack Ice at the North and South Poles covers 6% of the ocean’s surface (nsidc.org), an area similar to North America. Speaking of propaganda. Cfact has no scientific capabilities. It has no studies underway. It has no scientists on its payroll. Its mission statement is to "protect private property rights against Climate Change Hysteria". It refers to "common sense" in the same way a flat earth was considered common sense.

THIS ladies and gentlemen, is the only type of organization supporting the myth that climate change is not real and caused by man.

While we're on the subject of propaganda, let me tell you what kind of jobs "Climate Scientists" would get if they didn't have a bunch of suckers like the left following them - Wal Mart greeter or stall mucker!

Suckers like the authors of 97% of all scientific research papers on the subject published in peer review journals. Which leaves the 3% of people publishing the GOPerLords' side on Fox and the rest of the Republican Ministry of Propaganda where alternative truth is the only alternative.

No wonder GOPers went for Cadet Bonespurs - only people who would bet on a 3% probability (LIKE THE ODDS OF LIL DONNY ACTUALLY SUCCEEDING IN A BUSINESS) would regurgitate the nincompoopery of the far right pseudoscience that keeps their kids unvaccinated and them ineducable.

Here is Louisiana, that people who have lived in that area know and expect to happen....while some, appear to thumb their nose at reality...not my reality, Louisian's reality.

Insurance rates are rising as south Louisiana's coast erodes.
