the usual process is to negotiate (or make a deal) with the other countries.  We had a deal and Trump tore it up.  Now we learn that Trump is incapable of actually making a deal.  Not with Mexico, Canada, North Korea, Japan, closure of the government, infrastructure spending. So, we should tend to our own knitting to take some of the pollution out of the mix and wait for a Democratic president who can actually negotiate.

IMO, it is quite arrogant to believe we have control over the climate.  It has been changing since the beginning of time.  We have had an ice age.  History is a very fascinating subject.  Science is also fascinating and has a certain order to the study of it.

There are many types of phenomena which cannot be replicated in laboratories yet we study them, develop theories and test those theories.  Such is the case with climate change.  When you find an internationally recognized scientific body equivalent to NASA which doubts man made climate change, call me.

The love of money and profits drive the Republican Party and trump, they place it ahead of the welfare of America and the planet.  trump supporters seem blind to it. meanwhile, the planet deteriorates, the rich get rapidly richer, and everyone else slowly sinks lower.

It's highly likely the Republicans have set Iran on an irreversible course toward becoming a Nuclear power by PROVING nobody can trust the USA to abide by our agreements and treaties

I hope Iran proves them wrong, the people of Iran are not bad people, they're not evil, they don't deserve to be punished by war.

Republicans are not just willing to go to War for no reason, they are EAGER to begin the slaughter that will destroy hundreds of billions of dollars worth of high tech equipment and munitions that will have to be replaced, earning YUGE profits for the death merchants and giving GOPers another excuse to slash assistance programs and infrastructure spending that benefit the 99%.

The fact several thousand brave American men and women will perish is of no concern to the GOPerLords simply because their children will not be the ones being slaughtered.

And a note to those who think Cadet Bonespurs is just trying to disarm Iran:

Kim starved his people for decades to get the money to build his Nukes, and now there is no way even a Republican would launch an attack on North Korea.

The leaders of Iran have all the resources needed to build Nukes, but they ABANDONED all their activities involving Nuclear weapons in exchange for being able to expand their economy for the benefit of all their people.

Now the ToadPOTUS is threatening WAR to topple their Government and occupy their country, JUST LIKE jrbush did in Iraq. (by the way GOPers, how's that worked out for us?)

If the only way they can be sure our GOPerLords will NOT use military force to take over their country is to have Nuclear weapons to use against our invading armies and our "allies" (Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan), why on earth would they not build Nukes?

It's highly likely the Republicans have set Iran on an irreversible course toward becoming a Nuclear power by PROVING nobody can trust the USA to abide by our agreements and treaties, and the only way to prevent an unprovoked attack by American Military is to make the carnage too great for even a Republican to bear.

Climate change

The news about climate change just seems to be getting worse. The latest bad news: A conclusion that global sea levels are rising much faster than previously estimated, which could put several major coastal cities, including New York and Shanghai, in jeopardy. A new study says the oceans could rise by more than 6 feet if emissions continue unchecked, by the end of the century. If that happens, it would swamp cities and displace as many as 187 million people. The unexpectedly rapid rise in sea levels is due to the accelerating melting of ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica, the study says.

Does that mean that you agree with AOC on the world ending in 12 years if we don't do something?  If so please tell me what would prevent the world from ending in 12 years and how you are going to get China to buy into it.

IMO, it is quite arrogant to believe we have control over the climate.  It has been changing since the beginning of time.  We have had an ice age.  History is a very fascinating subject.  Science is also fascinating and has a certain order to the study of it.

For example:

The steps of the scientific method go something like this:

  1. Make an observation or observations.
  2. Ask questions about the observations and gather information.
  3. Form a hypothesis — a tentative description of what's been observed, and make predictions based on that hypothesis.
  4. Test the hypothesis and predictions in an experiment that can be reproduced.
  5. Analyze the data and draw conclusions; accept or reject the hypothesis or modify the hypothesis if necessary.
  6. Reproduce the experiment until there are no discrepancies between observations and theory. "Replication of methods and results is my favorite step in the scientific method," Moshe Pritsker, a former post-doctoral researcher at Harvard Medical School and CEO of JoVE, told Live Science. "The reproducibility of published experiments is the foundation of science. No reproducibility – no science."

Does that mean that you agree with AOC on the world ending in 12 years if we don't do something?

Twelve years is the point of no return, based on the best estimate of a consensus of science, and science has a conservative bias.  Lydon Johnson addressed man made climate change in 1965, we have been gathering information and making observations for 54 years.

Now we're out of time, we kick the can down the road, now so much at our peril, but at the peril of our children and grand children.
