Re: Republican planning for cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security?

Message 31 of 43

McConnell has stated its only possible to cut Social Security and Medicare with bipartisan support, so when the GOPers push a DEFICIT REDUCTION bill thru the Senate that the President is willing to sign, he thinks he'll be able to get enough Dems to go along to get the reductions made WITHOUT ENDANGERING ANY TAX CUTS FOR THE UBERRICH OR CORPORATIONS.

Anyone in the 99% who casts another vote for any Republican anywhere for anything is a fool or a masochist - probably both.

A COLA formula being attached to Social Security cannot prevent cuts being made.

Many working people are on Medicaid.

And ......... Medicare can be cut if a national health care plan is not passed.

I say cuts will not be made to SS and Medicare. If you have proof otherwise, please show proof.

If you understood the health care system you would know we already have a version of Medicare for all. Just go to an ER and you will be treated no money required. Right now we have the most expensive version of Medi Care for all there is. The versions you tell us will die on the vine would save us all money. How little our far right knows.

You are probably right that House Democrats would vote down a bill that cut these programs. However, if Republicans and allies keep getting out a message like the Fox News article, more and more people start to believe the biased argument. Then as part of an effort to reduce the deficit/debt, it might be easier for the R's to get some cuts or changes in the calculations of cost of living increases that would reduce future benefits. The more we speak up the less damage they will do.

Doesn't matter who has the house since this is never happening.

Solving the funding problem for Social Security only requires raising the cap to $250,000 and keeping it at the level that covers 90% of total personal income. But GOPerLords will have to pay more, so Yertle McConnell will never allow that proposal to even reach the Senate Floor for debate, let alone a vote.

As for Medicare, that can be fixed by regulating the drug companies so they cannot charge an American more than their lowest World-wide price for any drug and passing "Medicare For All" to give Americans what citizens of every other industrialized Nation have had for DECADES.

THE ONLY OBSTICLE TO FIX MEDICARE AND SOCIAL SECURITY ARE ELECTED REPUBLICANS.

So the solution is obvious - 2018 was a good start, 2020 MUST finish the job, or the GOPerLords will see to finishing off the Social Safety Net for Seniors - they could care less if you like it, the only seniors they care about are THEMSELVES, and if you're not in the very top of the top 1%, you're of no concern to the GOP.

Be ready for politicians to come about your Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid.
