Sorry - you can't hide her. She is out there and not just on Fox.

Yep, and the Right seems to immensely dislike that, whining about everything she says.

No whining, just honest disagreement with a person who is honestly expressing views others hide from preferring instead to insult and post "Fox" - or Limbaugh - or Fascist - or Nazi - or Kluxer - or racist - or sexist - or alt-right - or homophobe, etc.

Relax KidBoy and don't fall for Fox's hyperventillating misinformation, there won't be any bans on planes or cars.

So, she’s maybe not stupid, just a liar.

The liars are those who say that AOC calls for a ban on all cars and all airplanes. Of course those same liars erroneously think that if they repeat it over and over it will make it true.

It's hilarious watching the right getting totally bent out of shape over every move Alexandria Ocasio Cortez makes.

You seem to confuse amusement with bent.

Sorry, but"amusement" hardly explains the Right's fixation on her.

The "fixation" if that is what you want to call it is based on the fact that she is a very interesting person. She expresses the ideology that others are afraid to admit to for some reason or other. And, she has carved out a key position for herself in the Democratic Party - defining the realities of the Progressive Movement.

Whether it's a deadly cold snap or a hole under an Antarctic glacier or a terrifying new report, there seem to be constant reminders now of the dangers that climate change poses to humanity.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Sen. Ed Markey, D-Mass., think they have a start to a solution. Thursday they are introducing a framework defining what they call a "Green New Deal" — what they foresee as a massive policy package that would remake the U.S. economy and, they hope, eliminate all U.S. carbon emissions.

That's a really big — potentially impossibly big — undertaking.

"Even the solutions that we have considered big and bold are nowhere near the scale of the actual problem that climate change presents to us," Ocasio-Cortez told NPR's Steve Inskeep in an interview that aired Thursday on Morning Edition.

She added: "It could be part of a larger solution, but no one has actually scoped out what that larger solution would entail. And so that's really what we're trying to accomplish with the Green New Deal."

What is the Green New Deal?

In very broad strokes, the Green New Deal legislation laid out by Ocasio-Cortez and Markey sets goals for some drastic measures to cut carbon emissions across the economy, from electricity generation to transportation to agriculture. In the process, it aims to create jobs and boost the economy.

In that vein, the proposal stresses that it aims to meet its ambitious goals while paying special attention to groups like the poor, disabled and minority communities that might be disproportionately affected by massive economic transitions like those the Green New Deal calls for.

Importantly, it's a nonbinding resolution, meaning that even if it were to pass (more on the challenges to that below), it wouldn't itself create any new programs. Instead, it would potentially affirm the sense of the House that these things should be done in the coming years.

Lawmakers pass nonbinding resolutions for things as simple as congratulating Super Bowl winners, as well as to send political messages — for example, telling the president they disapprove of his trade policies, as the Senate did in summer 2018.

That women is nuts....no airplanes .. junk your gas vehicles..give me a break!

Given her thought process and logic, She’d find it difficult to fall out of a tree and hit the ground. We can only pray she’s the Democratic presidential candidate in the near future.

Yeah right! That's why the Right seems to be totally fixated on her every word !

The end of fossil fuels...just think of how that would devastate our countries economy.

Face it AOC is out of her mind as are the people that think she is doing "the right thing" for our country.

Right now, if you are a windmill technician in training, you start getting job offers in the first year of your training. How many coal miners have that?  Coal mining jobs have been dropping every year even with Trump trying to bring back coal fired microwave ovens but there is a huge demand for solar and wind technologies.  The idea that AOC is "out of her mind" is very similar to the comment made by the buggy industry when automobiles first appeared on the scene. Again, talking to Conservatives about technology and the economic benefits is like talking to the Beverly Hillbillies about indoor plumbing.  They just don't get it.

Since I was not here when cars first hit the streets, I'll have to take your word for comments made at the time.
However, as to Conservatives and technology - we are realists, not dreamers. Certainly we look forward to the advances that technology will provide. On the other hand, the dreamers of the left seem to want to say, "That's a good idea. Let's make it happen by passing a law".

But of course if trump had called for the same things that AOC has trump supporters would be blubbering all over these pages in support of it.

Once again you are mind reading (poorly). Why not just deal with the thoughts as offered??

Me thinks that anyone with the ability to use critical thinking would know that AOC is making headlines over all the media.

Some on this board are suffering from FOX Derangement Syndrome.

And some snowflakes "on this board" seem to be suffering from the AOC Derangement Syndrome.

I think that she is sincere but naive.

There are sincere Marxist who think, "Yeah but this time we can do it right". And there are the hate filled class warfare people who see Marxism (wealth redistribution) as a way to get "the other guy's money"). And then there are the political opportunists that see Marxism as a way to attract the votes of the first and second group.

Basically, I see her as the first with maybe a wee bit of the third.
