A record number of unemployment claims were filed this week....2.25 MILLION claims so far this week. Sure doesn't help that 401K.

Except for the fact the economy has ALWAYS done better under a Democratic administration and Congress then under the GOPers. No need to wait to see how you've done under ToadPOTUS - FOR THE LAST 3 1/2 YEARS YOU GOT NADA!

More to the point, after another 7 months of Cadet Bonespur's bungling you'll be lucky to swap your 401k for postage stamps - one share = one stamp.

You are correct we do. Just this evening we have some actions of 2 Reb. Senators during the month of Feb.  1. Richard Burr of NC (my recall) had an action he took in Feb. revealed. He spoke to a gathering of his high donor supporters in his home state about what could happen with the virus arriving in the US. He told them it would hit hard and have very bad effects of the Stock Market. (This was the same day Trump was telling us the virus would just go away) Burr sold close to 2 million of his stock holdings at that time also. The good Senator got out of the market and made a ton of money before it crashed, and just after he had attended a classified briefing on the subject in the Senate. Want to bet a lot of his big donors did the same thing. 2. The new Reb. Senator of GA did the same thing with her stock to the tune of close to 1 million.

Want to bet this same thing was not done by quite a few other high ranking Reb. in Federal Service. How many of Trumps close allies did it to? Once again all can see how Trump and his Reb. followers used their offices to make money at the expense of all of us.

The problem is that over 90% of our society are not millionaires and never will be. We need policies that support our working class and help them become more prosperous. Policies that help the Investment class do nothing for the working class, or 90% of our society.

That is clearly your opinion based on what you know about the world around you and based on your own experience.

My son is a HVAC Service Technician and has been since 2006.  Although he is not a millionaire today, he is well on his way.  His 401k has him at 3/4 of the way there today and he is 40 years old.  He is pretty happy with his life.  Talk to your kids and Grands, things are going pretty good for working Americans.

So you judge the health of our economy based only on your  son's experience?  My son is very successful yet he supports changes so that our society is healthier for everyone. Just under half of our society lives paycheck to paycheck and are at or just above the poverty line. Those folks can't afford to put money into a 401K or any kind of savings. This is unacceptable to everyone that doesn't suffer from the "I Got Mine" syndrome..
