Journey, it's ironic that you would try to correct someone else's grammar. You know what they say about people who live in glass houses.

Rk, you question whether repealing Obamacare would really be a loss. The answer, according to the CBO report, is clearly yes. Obamacare is projected to reduce the rate of medical inflation and reduce costs to Medicare. Unless we bring medical inflation under control, we cannot control the deficit.

Rk, I don't think you understood the Reuters article. Obamacare IS saving us money and reducing the deficit by reducing the number of uninsured. Obviously repealing Obamacare would mean that we would lose that savings. We can't afford to have 50 million uninsured Americans--it would be bad economics, in addition to being ethically wrong. The title of the thread is probably what confused you.

Hey, CT - Chas doesn't seem happy with your proposed alternate phrasing.

I'll just leave it for you guys (generic) to work it out betwixt and between yourselves.

O.K. I can buy the "a"/"every" thought. The President announced his intention to "fundamentally change America". I am opposed to that. He leans towards Progressivism or a version of Socialism, I do not so it figures we wouldn't be on the same page. However, dealing in absolutes is often a mistake so I hope you will be pleased with this rendition:

It is a game to stifle discussion. The progression goes like this:

1, You are opposed to most if not all proposals of the President's therefore you hate Obama;

2. Obama is Black therefore you are a racist;

3. End of story - we will not discuss it further, we will just go forward with the assumptions.

See the stifling - either agree or be called a "hater" or a "racist".

Twist words and phrases all you want to, rk. The fact is that if a poster's postings project hate and a racist attitude against President Obama (or anyone else), then it is his or her fault for posting things that project that. Maybe those people (posters) should work on what they say. If you take that personally, well ..................

More illogical trash from RK who wrote in part, "You are opposed to a proposal of the President's therefore you hate Obama"

Change the words from "a proposal" to every propsoal from the President and then you have a logical statement as it applies to RK who hates President Obama.

 resident Obama Haters have been telling us the past 5 years that it's "socialized medicine"

Two items often stated, never demonstrated.

It is a game to stifle discussion. The progression goes like this:

1, You are opposed to a proposal of the President's therefore you hate Obama;

2. Obama is Black therefore you are a racist;

3. End of story - we will not discuss it further, we will just go forward with the assumptions.

Now the "socialized medicine" game - as established, Obamacare is more Fascist or, in contemporary terms "crony capitalism". But, again - "We'll go with the "socialized medicine" narrative no matter what the facts show". And the reason - the left has decided they own the word "Fascist'"as an insult, so any program they back that leans in that direction must be rebranded.

motoman said, "Obamacare has 1 good thing  ... you can't be turned down for pre-existing conditions, but it is to expensive and it still doesn't cover everyone. It's not affordable and it's destroying good jobs."

1. It does a lot more than eliminating the pre-existing condition status which by the way is huge.

2. Of course it doesn't cover everyone, it's targeted at millions of Americans who work for small companies that do not provide health insurance, the self employed, and those who are laid off. It's not targeted at people like motoman who already have employer sponsored insurance.

3. Motoman claims it's too exepnsive. Isn't that interesting because our resident Obama Haters have been telling us the past 5 years that it's "socialized medicine" which is essentially "Free Insurance" given away by the government. We know it can't be free and expensive simultaneously.

4. Jobs. I challenge motoman to explain the job loss theory about Obamacare. Please tell us exactly why and how motoman thinks OC is destroying jobs.

5. Finally, I don't thik motoman carefully read everything in the report because it only discussed costs. Per the CBO, Obamacare will actually be revenue neutral.

Obamacare increased the deficit by 1.7 trillion over 10 years ( CBO office estimate, not mine ), 353 billion would be a bargain compared to that, not to mention the 750 billion they cut from medicare.

Obamacare has 1 good thing  ... you can't be turned down for pre-existing conditions, but it is to expensive and it still doesn't cover everyone. It's not affordable and it's destroying good jobs.

Before you start with the "there are plenty of good jobs out there", stop aand investigate what the alphabet news networks are telling you.  Sure, there are plenty of part time jobs out there, but they don't pay a wage that you can make a living at, so what good are they? Plus, you can't afford Obamacare even with the subsidies and Obamacare rates are going WAY up this year.

Thank God I have a good job with a company that offers healthcare, vision and dental as well as life, short term and long term disability insurance as well as a pension plan.

Pass the Whiskey, there is to much Kool-Aid being guzzled out there.
